Why does prog rock always come in for so much derision and ridicule? I personally love a good concept album. Could it be that fans of "lesser" forms of music just can't get their heads around the grandiose arrangements and lofty ideas?

You've omitted "Paranoid" by Black Sabbath wasn't that in the series? (or was that on the BBC series of a similar persuasion?) "Dark Side of the Moon" was one and "Night at the Opera." Queen.:D

Yeah, I reckon that's it, Steve. Sadly, we just don't possess your sophisticated intellectual capabilties, effectively preventing us from fully appreciating the panoramic musical visions and deep, meaningful lyricism of Jon Anderson and his ilk.

I guess we're just condemned to a lifetime of tedium, listening to our "lesser" forms of music like blues, soul and rock 'n' roll. It's a lousy job, but somebody's got to do it! ;)

Beach Boys, Jan and Dean , other 'surf sounds'... played the thing continously throgh the desert (it was so bizarre) it disintergrated before we got to the 4 corners, tossed it out of the car window, never been able to find outi if it was ever issued on vynil or CD :D :D

Never heard of that one, SJ, although I know they appeared in a surf film "Beach Ball" doing a song called "Surfer Boy"...

Sorry to hear that Wyn, but it is possible to enjoy blues, soul and rock 'n' roll together with Prog Rock, I enjoy all of them and have Robert Johnson, Sam and Dave and others along with Yes. All of it's great music with none better than the other.
