East Lancs rave scene.

There's a newly released film about the late eighties/early nineties rave scene in East Lancashire, called High on Hope.

High On Hope

In this promo for the film mention is made of the raves that happened at Altham business park.

(There is some swearing in the clips, so don't watch if likely to be offended.)

Two short films made in 1990/91, about the raves that were held at Monroe's in Great Harwood, featuring scenes filmed whilst driving around the area.

(Again, there is the odd swear word, so be warned.)

This short film includes some scenes filmed in this area, including The Bubble Factory in Accrington, seen in passing.

Remember there was a televised debate which I attended on the ITVs "Up Front" hosted by Lucy Meacock and Tony Livesey, it was live from a mill in Bolton. On of the guests was Simon Dee (a real prat) the debate was quite lively, I ended up chatting to Lucy in the green room afterwards:D

There's a snippet of a televised debate, on the film promo clip in post 1.

Might be the same one.

Looks like it was a bit rowdy.

Re: East Lancs rave scene.

Groove was part of this scene and beleives its a generation thing. Mr.Jaysay would probably have been involved too had he been a youth in the late 80's. They were good times and Groove beleives they continued the all-nighter scene from the northern soul wigan casino days of the 70's.
