Really ? My comment was about a particular character, who by his very own comments shows leanings & attributes of a labour unionist (that being the gist of my comment with just a hint of humour)

Yes you can (assume), as that seems to be the view of some Brits to the German populace. Having lived here for a few years I've met quite a few Germans all with a variety of viewpoints & attitudes, but I choose who I associate with. ;)

Quite liked REM but preferred Miracle Legion, who were often compared to them at the time.

was at milton keynes bowl june 1984 to see U2.longest day !!!
r.e.m. were unkown support and didnt bother with them much...

years later i liked them,the album 'green' and the big hit album after..then automatic album made them massive..'man on the moon' ended up has a film ( about liaka from taxi show,great wierd film ).Anyway no one has died here :D

It was 2005 they were on in Hyde Park and I accidently got caught up outside the gig with my girlfriend in the park - heard all their hits and for some bizzare reason all the main roads were blocked off and there was no traffic running down Park lane - was like the city shut down!

A true indie band from start to finish, even in stadiums. They leave an important fingerprint on the world of music and I'm sure we won't see the end of their individual endeavours just yet.
