I seem to remember that Hendix quote myself.

ZZ Top also did an excellent cover version of Viva Las Vegas.

I think Hendrix said "Billy Gibbons is my favourite guitarist!" not the best in the world as I said before!

Gorham and Moore were on Alibi but it's Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson on Emerald (one of my all time fave songs)

Too right.
Saw Limehouse Lizzy (Lizzy tribute band) last year they were absolutely suburb!!! Would've loved to have seen Lizzy with Phil Lynott but discovered 'em a couple of years too late.
Seen Thin Lizzy at MEN but Limehouse were much better - gonna see 'em again next time they're up here.

I,m surprised that no one has mentioned Hank Marvin......perhaps not in the elaborate style of Hendrix...but he has recorded some great tracks since going solo and of course with the Shadows.

And he influenced and inspired many guitarists, including Eric Clapton.

Les Paul as well, pioneered - in fact invented what is fundamental to the whole pop/rock guitar style!
