Moon The Loon
 

24th April 1968, Enjoying a wild birthday party Keith Moon drummer with The Who drove his Lincoln car into a Holiday Inn swimming pool. As the party had become out of control, the police were called to put an end to the festivities. Moon, ever keen to avoid the boys in blue snuck outside and got into a Lincoln Continental Limousine and attempted to make a getaway. Unfortunately, in his inebriated state he released the handbrake, and began rolling towards the pool. Moon simply sat back and waited, as the car crashed through the fence around the pool and into the water.

That was probably Alvin Lees birthday party, Lead singer of 10 Years After, cos he did that at his, Still this could be another, Have witnessed Moons lunacy first hand at a Crystal Palace Garden Party.:eek::D

Yep we were sat on the grass wi bin bags wrapped oer us, cos it was persisting down, n we heard this noise, twas a helicopter coming oer, on the underside in black paint it said "Moon" it got oer the lake about 75-100 ft above, n moony jumped out into the lake.:eek::D Twas sat morning before the first band had come on, It really cheered everyone up, Wouldn't have minded but The Who weren't even appearing at the 24 hr concert.:rofl38::rofl38::rofl38::rofl38: Don't think theres many if any of those any more.

Beach Boys, Richie Havens,Joe Cocker, Country Joe @ Fish, Sha Na Nah, in London, stage was in a big sloping field wi a half moon stage in middle of a Lake, Was more acts on, but hard to remember now. Ask around, sure some locals will remember,

I know the place the stage is still there in a small lake ? - water hole is more like it! ;) What year was it? Early 70's? Where you hallucinating? :rolleyes:

The stage is still there but it's a different one, all the trees have been cut back and the pond (not really a lake) is still there.

I meant did you hallucinate Keith Moon dropping out of a helicopter! :D:D:D
