None mentioned so far can hold a candle to Lena Horne. She had the looks as well as the voice.My dad was absolutely right about her. She had the lot.

My current favourite. Jai Malano of the Royal Rhythmaires. This gal has a voice that can shake walls and if there was any justice, she'd be huge. Unfortunately, there isn't and the usual over hyped, talentless wasters will keep on hogging the spotlight. :cool:

Yes. This I agree with. But...
Carole King is not the best singer in the world, she just happens to be the best songwriter. Though some may argue a lot of her songs are co written. She was even great in the beginning, in the early sixties. I would be interested to know how many hits was actually written by Carole. Must be close to 100 at least? So that being said. It isn't fair to compare songwriters with Carole :) Quote:

I was going to put up Jo Stafford and 'You belong to me'........but I don't think there will be many who have heard of her.....well apart from the old stagers, like Cashy, Jaysay and Wynonie.
