Certainly was! (For anyone wondering what we're on about, Cashy, myself, Paris and Mrs H had got tickets to go and see Chuck at the Apollo a few years ago, but he cancelled due to ill health).

If you like "Crying", this, for my money is the best version of all. Probably 'cause it's half Canadian.;)

Surprising, Eric, even after all these years(1961) that song still brings back sad memories.

Agree with that Eric.Great singer K.D Lang. If anything I prefer her version to Roy Orbison's.

Well done Dave, I have been trying to think of a comeback to that post all day.

Actually he was neither main event nor warm up...

I was brought up on a diet of Billy Fury. It seemed as though my mother had him on all the time. I didn't see him live but what a singer

Apologies if this has been asked before. What's your desert island disc from the Sixties. Mine for today at least is Rolling Stones - Mothers Little Helper. The thing is there's so many good songs it's subject to regular change

So, does this mean we're allowed to have different ones for each day? Mine for today is:

Claytoner40 21-06-2012 18:12

Mine changes day by day. I think today its Get Off My Cloud again by the Stones. I've also been listening to The Toys singing Lover's Concerto. This has to be the finest pure pop record ever

Today mine would be Saturday Gigs - Mott The Hoople, another great live band.
