This thread has caused me look at the bio of Tom Parker.

He was an illegal immigrant to USA and couldn't risk applying for a passport for tours outside USA. So that is why Elvis only performed one such tour - in Canada - at a time when passports weren't needed for the visit.

It was a reason,that everyone supposed why he didn't take elvis on a world tour, but someone as shrewd as Tom Parker, would have been aware of his eligibility.

Elvis is also reported to have credited his success and fame to him too

I have been there myself many times, never saw Elvis though, only the man who unloaded my tanker loaded with Trichloroethylene. It was used as an industrial degreaser years ago, it was banned because it was highly carcinogenic. I live to tell the tale.

You being snickety? Fact is Colonel Tom Parker was a con merchant - very clever though obviously, but had a very mixed up background - aparently could have been a murderer, lied about being an army Colonel and so on.

From what I read he got into showbusiness working on fairgrounds, then got into promoting Rock n Roll gigs then came across Elvis. ;) Bet you didn't know that cashy!?
