I've heard of Hank Ballard 'cos it was him who invented the 'Twist' and made Chubby Checker famous by writing all those hits for him, such as 'Lets twist again' and the like.
He also wrote lots of hits for other artists without much success as an artist himself. |

I would go for anything between 1887 to present day, personal choice, technology gave it to us.
O.K. that's slightly more than 5 years, but, wow, the number of different pools we can dip into these days why be restrictive? |
