well you said(sugarmouse) that you wanted to start a depressing music thread, and you didn't. So.....

When you quote somebody you are supposed(forum etiquette) to write below the posts and not above( I am always being moaned at on forums for this hehe )

I think "melancholy" more than "depressing".

Your original songs were in the same vein. Maybe you could put aside the guitar for a couple of weeks and take up the ukulele!! Songs played on uke always sound happy...!!!

BTW, what's the AADGAD for in your signature? Is it some kind of altered guitar tuning?

Interesting....but not one I'd use. Drop D is as altered as I go.

I've just listened to it and it wasn't that depressing to me. Most depressing LP I listened to was Joy Division "Unknown Pleasures" but I havn't listened to it since so I don't know if that still holds? ;)

I actually really love Dakota Suite. I missed a live show in Leeds and they wont be doing any more for who knows how long. They was supposed to do a European tour and he's cancelled it. "emotionally I am not really up to it at this time" which is what he has been saying for years.... :(
