Your Favorite Singer Who Can't Sing
Just been reading the thread on Leonard Cohen ... love his stuff. But he doesn't fit the conventional understanding of "singer" ... nor do I think he would want to. So, apart from him, who is your favorite singer who "can't sing". You know, something like this:
The Piano Has Been Drinking - Tom Waits - YouTube |
Re: Your Favorite Singer Who Can't Sing
Bob Dylan no question at all to me, was a great singer before "Tunes" were invented, love his stuff though.;)

Swinging Wilf. Three Coins in a Fountain was a classic. :D:D

Your Favorite Singer Who Can't Sing
Any karaoke singer, I know that when I start enjoying their performance, I've had enough to drink in public and must retire to my private supply of beer.

Re: Your Favorite Singer Who Can't Sing
It has to be Bob Dylan for me too.

Re: Your Favorite Singer Who Can't Sing
If I allowed my socialist principles to cloud my reason and obliterate my common sense, I would start a poll:D But, without looking for votes I really do prefer this:
Marianne Faithfull - As Tears Go By [1987] ReWorked - YouTube Over this: As Tears Go By Marianne Faithfull - YouTube Just my opinion ... not an opinion poll.;) |
Your Favorite Singer Who Can't Sing
It's got to be Ian Brown (Stone Roses). He is horrific live but he is super cool and has somehow got away with it ; )

And what about this. Two great "bad" singers for the price of one:D:

People raved about what a wonderful tenor Harry Secombe was - I heard him singing off key quite often, and wondered why I was the only one who did.

Never in a million years described as a favourite of mine.
A master class in how to ruin a song. :-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwZV59U0cCc |

What about Rolf Harris, Two little Boys. Can ya tell what it is yet?

Re: Your Favorite Singer Who Can't Sing
Keith Richards: too many cigarettes has made his singing voice as hoarse and wheezy as Bob Dylan's. He wasn't a bad singer, especially when harmonising, in the 60s and early 70s.
