Stanley should have had somebody on the post for the free kicks as there was no way JK was going to make it across his goal to save them

Great Pics tony

great pics tony.

If you have someone on the post then it invites the opposing players to come and stand in the 6 yard box and in front of JK, this is a nightmare for goalkeepers because it becomes difficult to see the ball. The free kick was well executed thats all you can say about it

yeah but then fearon the keeper should either stand near the middle of the net or face the consequences of conceding which we did

Re: Aldershot pics now online

The keeper set his wall up at one side of the goal and he covers the other. He cant cover all of the goal, if he was in the middle he would struggle if a shot went to either corner.
The only other thing he could have done so he could stand more in the middle is if he put another person to cover a bit of the other side of the goal (but keepers only tend to do that on the free kicks which are more in the middle).
If he was in the middle he would really struggle if it went in any corner. The wall would be in his way so he wouldnt be able to see, therefore if he wants to go in the middle he has to change his wall around or have no wall.
Everyone would have been moaning if he was stood in the middle and the ball went in the opposite corner the wall was protecting because that is his job to protect that side of the goal in that situation. I really dont know how you can blame him it was right in the corner it looped over the wall.

Your speaking to a person who has been a goalkeeper for over 7 years and played at Burnley youth and stanley reserve level :)

Trust me its not his fault for that goal!!!

Excellent photos Kipax, I have to say they had brought some good kit with them and they appear to be well organised with the flags. Maybe next season I’ll get off my a*** and get over for a few games. :o
