Missing the Football?

Get yourself to Ewood this week to support the England women. Cheap tickets, good football and the two fit players named Rachel.

Don't think I'll be able to get there, but FOX is showing Sweden v Denmark and England v Finland Sunday afternoon so I'll have to settle for participating from afar.

You really are detined to a career with the The Sun. Perhaps you could cover the stories they run on the colour of the womens underwear at Wimbledon? :dry8:

I'm under strict orders to interview the prettier players. Its common practice i'm afraid. If your ugly, you don't get on telly and you dont get in the papers. Sad I know, but thats the way. and no this is not work for Radio Lancs

Re: Missing the Football?

CAN I BRING THIS BACK TO THE ORIGINAL POINT!!!!!!

Before mr cottier decided to be a chuavenist and gloss over what is happening and make this thread about him!!!!

THE POINT WAS :-

1. IF YOU ARE MISSING YOUR FOOTBALL

2. IF YOU WANT TO WITNESS A GOOD ATMOSPHERE

3. IF YOU WANT TO WATCH AND SUPPORT YOUR COUNTRY

4. IF YOU WANT TO TAKE PART IN THE MOST HIGH PROFILE TOURNAMENT LIKELY TO TAKE PLACE IN THIS COUNTRY FOR THE FORESEABLE FUTURE

5. BUT MOST OF ALL IF YOU WANT TO REPRESENT YOUR CLUB (ASFC OBVOIUSLY) THROUGHOUT EUROPE

GET DOWN TO EWOOD PARK AT 6PM ON WEDNESDAY OR SATURDAY WEARING YOUR STANLEY SHIRTS AND WAVING THE STANLEY FLAGS AND SPREAD THE WORD.

I'VE ALREADY BEEN ON EUROSPORT WAVING MY CLUB FLAG AND WEARING MY STANLEY SHIRT ON SUNDAY AT THE SWEDEN VS DENMARK GAME. SPREAD THE WORD PEOPLE AND JOIN IN THE FESTIVAL OF FOOTBALL.

IT'S ONLY £5 FOR ADULTS AND £2.50 FOR CONCESSIONS. BARGIN!!!

sparkie 07-06-2005 13:20

Re: Missing the Football?

I FORGOT TO MENTION BEFORE THAT A WIN ON WEDNESDAY WILL PUT ENGLAND INTO THE SEMI-FINALS OF THE COMPETITION.

SO COME ON AND SHOW YOUR COUNTRY YOU LOVE IT, BY CHEERING THE WOMENS NATIONAL SIDE TO VICTORY, AND THE FIRST TIME ANY ENGLAND TEAM HAVE BEEN IN A SEMI FINAL SINCE 1990.

P.S. PLEASE DON'T QUOTE ME ON THE ABOVE, I CAN'T REMEMBER MOST OF EURO 96!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed the England ladies match last night - shame they didn't win as they deserved to but it was a really good game of football and a brilliant atmosphere. Will definately go & watch them again

Re: Missing the Football?

Iin my opinion Hope Powell OBE should become Dame Hope Powell the amount of work she has done is phenomenal. Making her a dame would also symbolise the sacrifice and the work the rest of the girls put in and the team behind them.

Hope Powell and the England girls have football where it matters- in the heart. There are so many in football nowadays that only care for money and personal gain in all areas - including the press and media.

That's what makes Stanley so enjoyable because there are too many people to mention who have football in their heart. In my eyes that could alone take Stanley back to the league - and I dearly hope it will.

It's the same with this England women's side. They may not be the best but hopefully their spirit can lead them on. I hope they get as much support as possible on Saturday becuase they damn well deserve it.

OK - who are you & what have you done with Adam Cottier?

Re: Missing the Football?

Ha Ha Ha!!! Nice one Accy Mad!!!

But as much as it galls me to say this i think he's right (who ever has userped adam!) Hope Powell has done nothing but good for raising the awareness of womens football in this country.

As most of you know I am an avid stanley fan and have been for the last 17 years, and there is only one thing that would top Stanley getting back in the league, and thats England Ladies winning the World Cup!!! For now it's the European championships, and a draw or a win on saturday at ewood park will put us into the semi-finals.

So come on and show your support, get yourself to ewood park buy yourself a ticket (£5 bargin) and enjoy!!!

Just one other point to make, England are the only country in the competition that do not have any proffessional teams in there national league. Just thought I'd throw that one in.

Re: Missing the Football?

i've just got back from the press conference at Ewood they are all in good spirits. They really do want support though. It would be great if Ewood is full for them because that would probably constitute a 12th man as it did in their opening game. This is the biggest game they have ever known and it should be a cracking atmosphere again so if you've nothing to do do tomorrow get yourself to Ewood.

Rec blooded males - RACHEL UNITT! - she's worth the £5 entrance fee alone
