Carnival
As most of of you will be aware it is the Accy Carnical tomorrow and we are having a float. There is a group of volunteers dressing the float this evening and if anybody would like to offer a helping hand this evening please feel free to come down and join us.
We will be dressing the float from 6pm for approximately 1 hour and the location is: 1. Through the traffic lights in Oswaldtwistle leading towards Blackburn. 2. Go past the Tool Hire shop on your left. 3. Underneath the railway bridge and after approx 100 yards on your left there will be a dirt track just before the petrol station. 4. Take this dirt track and the place were we will be dressing the float is situated on the track. Your help will be most appreciated but if you cant make it hope to see you during the course of tomorrow if in need to contact anyone contact Cammy on 07950218206 or myself on 07704018028 :) Regards, Smiffy :) |
Re: Carnival
Smiffy, I hope your directions on entering Accy from the West End on satuirday are somewhat better than your knowledge of places. The traffic lights you are referring to, above, are in Church, not Ossy; the latter is not reached for a further 100yds westward beyond the lights.

Re: Carnival
Smiffy,
Many thanks for the effort which you and your friends put in on Friday and Saturday. Not the easiest weather to work in, either . On behalf of the Supporters' Club . . . Well Done ! |
Re: Carnival
So how did the stall go Henry?

The stall looked very good and was personned (we can't say "manned" these days, you understand) by Budmak, Sparkie and myself. Sparkie worked particularly hard as she frequently had to flit between our stall and that of the Accrington Ladies. New members for the Supporters' Club were a bit thin on the ground compared to our triumphal, promotion-winning effort two years ago. Understandable, but somewhat disappointing nevertheless. However, we sold a remarkable amount of ASFC merchandise by dint of reminding the punters that it would be Fathers' Day within 24 hours, and Dad would surely appreciate something from the Accrington Stanley stall ! So, we shifted nearly £200-worth of bits-and-bobs . . . fridge magnets, pens, key-rings, cuff-links, videos , baseball caps and (yes! in that weather!) scarves. If we'd been allowed to sell some shirts we could have sold a dozen, I'm sure. All in all, Budmak and I agreed, a very worthwhile income for the Football Club . . . and that's what matters in the end, isn't it ? Nice to see Members from far and wide, including LongLostSon and family on a rare sortie away from the safe environs of Surrey ! |
