I saw that in the "Times" this morning. This is Seiko Watch Corporation..as far as I can recall, this is the first time the Stanley name has been used in an advertising campaign since the milk one in the 1970's.

Does anyone know who this guy is?

This is a fantastic bit of fun and free advertising for the club. I think someone should write to the Seiko Watch Corporation in the UK and get a poster of this advert for the club house wall.

Seiko have a few of these ads going including one that as a guy who support some foreign team going by the name of Dundee United. Who are they?

Maybe I'm wrong.......does anyone know of a national advertising campaign, for any product or sevice, where reference has been made to Stanley? I can't recall one.

As far as I know there has only been the milk ad. with the 2 scouse kids although Stanley have been referred to on Coronation Street from time to time.

I remember the advert well, mainly because we've never been allowed to forget it. I was more puzzled by the decade. Surely the advert was in the 80s?? Probably around 1988-ish wasn't it? :)

Yeah...I think you're right. The advert featured Ian Rush and he started at Liverpoll in 1980.

Astonishing ! Money can't buy this sort of publicity. I'll speak to the manufacturer and see if we can get some funding for the Supporters' Club too !
