could be Alex Hay striker ex Tranmere.
we (Morecambe) had him on loan a couple of years ago and he scored 4 in a Trophy match against a team from much lower down but was struggling when he played in Conference games and didnt score any more.

Official website states that David Brown has signed a two year contract, I hope that this isn't the mystery striker we have been after.

Because the signing may of not been totally finalised yet and if it is publicised when it isnt official it could affect the deal, but it looked promising :)
