Steve Flitcroft

Has joined Jonathan Smith in signing for Barrow AFC, didnt really see much of his loan spell due to work commitments, so honest opinion is he any good?!

Was expected after his time up there with Jonathan. Obviously not in league of his brother but on the day a quick & mobile player. An able Conf north player. Now you will have to wait till we are back in the league before landing any more Stanley staff!

Re: Steve Flitcroft

Steve has been the most improved player in the squad since ASFC turned pro.

He must be thoroughly fed up of being thought of as the "least-achieving Flitcroft brother". A wholly undeserved sobriquet, I believe.

It may well be that his hard work , dedication and improvement with Stanley - and other clubs to whom he has been loaned - were not sufficient to satisfy the coaching team.

Whenever I saw him play last season I got the feeling that he knew he could do the job . . . if only the management would believe in him.

They didn't , and he deserves to be at a club where his qualities will be valued.

He still has lots of potential. It just needs unlocking.

Well said Henry - I think the same could be said about one or two other players that have been released, Paul Howarth for one.

Dissapointing To See Howarth Leave, But I Was Also Gutted When Kennedy Left, He Was A Bloody Good Player :)
