Evil to Wrexham??
 

Alright fellas,

rumours are rife down in sunny Wrexham that we will announce the signing of Lee Mcevilly tomorrow.
I have already read some odds and sods off this site and it appears you rate him.
would he be able to perform in the football league?

A worrying aspect to this post is that yesterday Wrexham lost two strikers to other clubs, one to Hartlepool and the other, last season's top scorer, to Crewe. They seem to be interested in ex-Oldham striker Rodney Jack but that still leaves room for another. Like the rest of us, I hope these are just rumours. But, if there's any truth in them, then sadly it looks like Evil's Wrexham deal may be back on. If it is then best wishes in the future and thanks for all you've done at the club.

would make sense, seeing as they have just lost there best striker in Ugarthe!


i would hate to see Evil leave as well as Rory, lets hope he stays, however as in the case of Rory if he wants to play at a higher level then there is nothing Stanley can do to stop him.

i definetly feel lee could make it in football league. I hope he stays though! It is bad enough Rory training with another club.

by the way wrexham have two strikers. Rodney Jack from Oldham and Julian Walters from Hull.....

Jack is only training with us at the mo - trying to prove his fitness and earn a contract.

At the weekend, the rumours started when someone out drinking with Denis Smith (wrexham manager) posted on one of our boards that Llewellyn was being sold to Hartlepool and we were buying Lee McEvilly. The next day Llew went to 'pools.

It is in the local papers that our "mystery" striker will be unveiled tomorrow.

According to the Wrexham FC website, they were supposed to be signing "an international striker" today, but no news of it yet. Maybe Evil's taken a leaf out of Steven Gerrard's book and suddenly realised that he's better off where he is!

That's the point I was making - they were obviously expecting to sign Evil today and hyping the fact up on their website...but it didn't happen!

He signed early this afternoon so to be honest both sites are pretty slow anouncing it, should be on them both soon though.

You happy or sad about this ? It is a loss to your club but it is a better move for him, just hope they dont go bankrupt !!

According to their website, the mystery striker will be unveiled tomorrow at the earliest. Hopefully, Eric's driving a hard bargain!

Still can't understand how a club in administration can be splashing out on transfer fees. Am I missing something here?

I don't know where Evil2 is getting his information from but last week he said that Evil was on holiday is America. The Wrexham Evening Leader now talks of a new striker flying in from America who is expected to sign a deal (see http://www.eveningleader.co.uk/ihome3/detail.asp?storyid=87&catid=Sport&officeid=1). No consolation for Stanley fans but a plus for Evil if he does sign is that his first match will be against Gerrard and Liverpool. And he still gets to play in a red shirt!
