Woking Preview

FRom the woking website
http://www.wokingfc.co.uk/pages/news.asp?ID=686

Thats an excellent in depth preview of the game.. lot of work has gone into it..

Is there anyone around who can do this for our website for all our games home and away............ Cottier did promise but let us all down . On another thread he says ..why should he do previews when the team is crap....

Is there anyone more reliable who will put that much effort in who can do this.... Come on.. make a commitment :)

Re: Woking Preview

Well you certainly have to hand it to them. They got all the stanley info correct with no hint of rival baiting at all. I'm very impressed. Would love to help out with pre match preview but would struggle to do every match and also get the info together!

A good write up indeed - and a very good note at the bottom of the page to the internetters that cant get there - choon into BBC Southern Counties - live commentary - might be biased towards the opposition but who cares...

Good luck today..........

Unfortunately we are beginning to find our level in this league, after a few more games we will be in the bottom 3 after losing to York City last night :(

Re: Woking Preview

Just a quick try.

Next up for Stanley are Burton Albion who we beat 3-1 at the Interlink last year and drew 2-2 at Eton Park This season we will play at the Pirelli Stadium Burtons new all purpose center, which has to be a big improvement on Eton park.<O:p

Some new faces for Burton Albion are Darren Tinson the ex Shrewsbury skipper who plays in the heart of defense, Keith Gilroy, Sligo born winger who has represented the Republic of Ireland at Under 21 level and began his career at Middlesborough, Shawn Harrod, a striker who was a regular for Notts County last season and Eric Graves a pacy wide man or striker who joined the Brewers initially on trial after his release from Stoke City at the end of 2004/05, rounding out Cloughies new signings is Andy Todd 26 year old Andy swapped the yellow and black of Conference North side Hucknall Town for that of the Brewers in July. From the wire today is news that Burton may sign Lincoln striker Danny Bacon when the loan window opens up on Wednesday, just in time to play against Stanley. The 24-year-old has made just two substitute's appearances for City since signing from Hucknall Town in June. Imps boss Keith Alexander told the Lincolnshire Echo: "The move will allow him to get some first-team games under his belt and also to score some goals. "It will be good for him as he's found it hard to get into our first team." <!-- E SF -->Alexander added: "The Conference is a good standard and not far off League Two now."<!-- E BO --><O:p></O:p>

Burton are currently in 18th place in the conference after a shaky start to the season but they clinched their first win of the season thanks to two goals from Aaron Webster, the midfielder gave the Brewers the lead from the penalty spot and scored the second with a header only two minutes after Scarborough had equalisied. Manager Clough had to be the most relived man in the place at the final whistle having seen his team surrender the lead in their two previous home games.<O:p

As normal Stanley are going to have their work cut out against a Burton side coming off their first win of the season and the boost of a new player coming in from a Div 2 team. Clough will have prepared them well but he can only work with what he has at the moment and most reports are saying not as good as last year which could be troubling for a club that finished 16th at the end of last season.<O:p

Stanley are coming off a good win against Woking with goals from Brown and Craney and although they haven’t set the conference on fire the start has been a reasonable one and are currently sitting in 8th spot with five teams on the same points total. They will be looking for their second away win of the season and also hoping for international clearance for new signing Romuald Bocco from French football, Stanley Chairman Eric Whalley said, “ he could be the biggest signing the club ever made”

Re: Woking Preview

add to this what u will:

Accrington Stanley will inflict exciting new signing Romuald Boco on the Conference this weekend when they take on Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium.

The 20-year-old will become the first Benin International ever to play in English football and Stanley manager John Coleman harbours high hopes of the French speaking forward as his side enter the autumn full of optimism after a positive start.

Following the important victory over Woking, three points are once again in the offing with Burton Albion amongst the medly of early-season strugglers.

But the very name Burton Albion will induce tumultuous mememories for Accrington fans, who saw their side dispose of a two-goal advantage at Burton's old Eton Park ground on Good Friday. The game spelt the beginning of the end for Stanley's promotion charge last season.

The same outcome is unlikely of course - it's still early days - but there's nothing like a revenge mission to warm the cockles as the summer draws to a close. Burton's new stadium would be a perfect setting for Stanley to make up ground on the leaders - and for the Boco-loco to make a debut to remember.
