Re: Poor Gates
Right then...the polls up in the general chat section of the site, the hread being "why don't people go to support Stanley.
By the way, I've got a mate called Stavros. He's a rabbit for a couple of brothels in the West End (a rabbit is the guy who goes round the public telephone boxes sticking up piccys of the girls and the services they offer. Good money,to.) |

Your mystic clues ring no bells at all really. I could only think you would suggest omar if you had stood next to me in the urinals? |

There are three people from the general forum going to the match for the first time tonight, Sarah, Mez's baby boy and Mez herself who has bought a Stanley t-shirt for the event and looked very fetching. Sadly it's sunny and not going to be wet.;) |

I may take issue with some of your later comments on this thread, but I must concur that the non-footy section of AccyWeb is representative of Accrington - indeed, Hyndburn - as a whole. By all means let's make every effort to keep our long-term supporters within the fold - it's a tragedy whenever we lose one. But we must be ever watchful and totally aware of what the great majority of the local population is thinking. We need to try to see things from their point of view, rather than from that of the Stanley diehards. As I've said many times (and I make no apology for repeating), the general public will come to Livingstone Road for a Stanley match when they are attracted by something in particular, e.g. it's a nice day, or it's a Cup Match. They emphatically will NOT come back soon if the facilities have fallen below their expectations . . . regardless of whether it was a Stanley victory. Conference Football in East Lancashire is populated by too many football enthusiasts and not enough pragmatists. |

Re: Poor Gates
the staveros is happy to let you know that he has checked his hectic schedule and is going to grace the ies with his presence against 'creepy' crawley town on the 17th.
the staveros is nice enough to do this without a big signing and without a roof on the clayton end terrace. your enthusiasm has convinced the staveros that another chance would be in order. a generous man indeed. this is your chance to get the staveros back on the hook so be sure to have plenty of cold draught budweiser awaiting and some speedy service. most importantly though you need to let the players know that they are going to be blessed with my audience and that they should put on a performance fit for a king. |
Re: Poor Gates
i will point you out to everyone.. you will of course be in the posh bit and not with us plebs.....
i have a crystal ball.. it shines brightly when you are around staveros :) |
