Goalkeepers

Darren Randolph is to miss three matches for Stanley, Stevenage away, Rotherham away, and the Fourth Qualifying round of the FA Cup. Does this mean that Andy Dibble will be playing ?

Re: Goalkeepers

or fearon :)

Re: Goalkeepers

Who else is there??

I reckon they need to ghet someone else in short term really.

Re: Goalkeepers

theres martin fearon, danny alcock (injured), randolph (int. duty) andy dibble

We have only been playing with randolph recently without a sub keeper on the bench. Coley may still risk this with dibble in net or as you say bring in a loan signing.

Is that Fearon really a player or what though??

I seen him in the bar and he's a titch, surely you need some size to be a keeper at this level??

Re: Goalkeepers

woah dont knock him since you have seen him play mate :) size isn't everything but it helps, he is a regular in the resevers i think and has been in the first team squad (number 18). Fabien Barthez isn't to big either neither is dudek :) Both can be good keepers on their day, honest :)

Those keepers dont look big but they are both 6 foot. Ive met Barthez in the Crowne Plaza in Manchester and he's bigger than he looks on the pitch.

I agree size isnt everything BUT there is being small and there is being REALLY small. Admitedly ive never seen the lad play but he looked about 9 stone wet through to me, I reckon some of the experienced pros would bash him up from set plays.

Randy is a good build for a keeper, he's a big old unit.

For me your keeper must be 6 foot, 12 stone or bigger. You need some presence. Only my opinion but its SUCH an important position.

There you go staveros ;)

Re: Goalkeepers

Come on then, I dont know anything about the lad, fill me in.

What are his strengths/weaknesses??

Do you think he is physically mature enough to handle the pro game if he was called upon NOW or what??

Can you see him being the Stanley No 1 in years to come or is he just here to make up the numbers??

These are the questions, give me the answers.

Re: Goalkeepers

just so you now staveros. Cafu01 is fearon (just making sure you know:)) Ask him or any of the stanley ultras fans team. Mind you he doesn't play in goal for them so thats no use. Have only seen him play once and he had a very good game tipping a goalbound effort onto the cross bar. An extremely agile save, Magical :)

im not asking him though, you cant appraise your own game fairly can you!?

I want to know what those who have seen him think.

Someone must be able to give me the low down on this cat??

Re: Goalkeepers

Leave the lad alone to progress and get on with his career. I know, maybe we should sign Nigel Letemin or the whole Everton team. That should see us back in the Unibond in no time.

He is very good, and a VERY experienced coach at stanley says he is VERY good and one to watch for the future.

Ill Back Coleman All The Way No Matter Who He Chooses Friday Night. It More Likely To Be Dibble Though, But If Its Fearon, Good Luck To The Fella ;)

Re: Goalkeepers

I don't know about goalkeepers, but we certainly need some small, nippy forwards in the box.

As an example , we had three corners in rapid succession against Gravesend which yielded absolutely zilch because our tallest (i.e., not very tall) players were fighting their (very) tall players in the air. Totally futile and very frustrating to watch.

A short corner, a short pass and a short player could have resulted in a goal . . . in short order.

Randolph Is Playing For The Republic of Ireland U19 squad For 3 Games, Does That Not Include Tonights Game ? And If Not, Im Sorry For The Mix Up ;)

Re: Goalkeepers

The initial matches are on 16, 18 and 20 October, with the squad getting together on Thursday 13 October. There's more on the Irish FA site at http://www.fai.ie/article.asp?hlid=313391&Title=Ireland+squad+for+U1 9+UEFA+qualifiers+in+Cork&lid=Main+News&sub=Irelan d+squad+for+U19+UEFA+qualifiers+in+Cork&navlid=&su blid=. Like Jeff said at the beginning, Darren misses Stevenage and Rotherham away and FAC 4Q.
