Chris Butler
Left-back Chris Butler, has informed Altrincham FC that he is leaving the club after just one appearance as he is able to receive better financial reward at Vauxhall Motors in Conference North. Alty boss Graham Heathcote was also unable to give Butler the regular assurance of a first-team place that he sought. Chris joined Alty earlier this month from Accrington Stanley, for whom he had played 30 games after being released by Liverpool in September 2004. He made his only appearance for Alty at Gravesend on 19 November 2005 and played for 58 minutes before being substituted.
SEEMS ALTY ARE LOSING PLAYERS FASTER THAN THEY ARE SIGNING THEM |

Re: Chris Butler
new left back plays 58 mins before moving on? cant be the best of environments for young football talent!
Chris needs his wages every week - hes got a new born child and needs guaranteed support for his new family. its evident Alty arent professionals yet. |

Re: Chris Butler
im not accusing anything of that sort. im merely saying your club werent taking his personal situation into account when it comes to his wages.

If he wants to play in the bottom half of the Conference north then good luck to him. And in response to baldy, no he hasnt touched a nerve, but I feel the right to react when a supporter of a club held together by one mans millions, calls into question the good name professionalism of my club. |
Re: Chris Butler
Please guys dont get as obsessed with alty as they are wih us, i cant stand reading this crap.....

Butler
A bloke comes, plays 1 game, isn't deemed good enough by managment and leaves. End of. Happens in Non-league quite often really. If he wants to go and play in front of one man and a dog in a team that could be in the Unibond League next year, to help provide for his kid then thats his (somewhat bizarre) choice.

Not a case of great finances chap, just astute management & having a football team as you will find out on Sat when you get minced by our "overpaid bank rolled" professionals. Now get your dictionary out for that last word cos I don't think it has reached the extreme depths of Mancunia yet! http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/i...cons/icon4.gif |
Re: Chris Butler
Possible explanation could also be that a lad with a new baby wants to spend more time at home. Playing in Conference North means he'd be home every night. Travelling all the way to Gravesend overnight and barely getting a game might make him take a different view of his priorities,

Re: Chris Butler
The jealousy this season has really reared up has it not? Everybody seems to think that we are bankrolled but that has never been the case.
Footnote to jealous fans, our chairman is a tight arsed businessman who just knows how to run an enterprise correctly. Plus he has the interest and love of Stanley at heart. He has avoided giving our fans a roof for years cos a roof don't pay entrance fee every week. where's the roof! |
Re: Chris Butler
I don't know where this bankrolled stuff comes from either. It's not a view i've ever put forward in Accy/Alty banter. I think there's a general assumption these days that if a team is doing well it must be spending money it hasn't got.
