Stanley v Carshalton Coverage Tonight...

... on 107 the Bee.

With Adam Alcock and some fool called Jewell. Damn, that's me...

Regular updates throughout the game, and if it goes to extra time and penalties then possibly some more detailed coverage.

All on 107 FM or online at ww.thebee.co.uk from about 7.

Thanks, Dan. Much appreciated. I just tuned in as Paul got his second to make it 2-0.

Yep thanks a lot for tonights updates Dan, much appreciated. Made some good summaries at the end, 14 games unbeaten, not been beaten since October and not been beaten this year - only even if we are just over 2 weeks into the new year it still sounds good :)

Just got back from match. Have to give Carshalton players their due they certainly know how to man mark. They kept very tight to our players and to be honest you would never believe they were bottom of conf south material.

Boco was a star when he came on, 30 secs on pitch and lays on for mullins second goal, superb!!! But oh how that ball just trickled over the line...

Big round of applause for the travelling fans, I stayed behind elliots goal in first half and had some great banter with the robin lads.

Ref was a bit whistle happy, but certainly not card happy as I don't think he reached for them once... but the liner, now thats a different matter and when carshalton's no 4 managed to whack him with the ball a big round of applause rose from the stanley end :D

All in all an ok match but nothing to get too excited about.. but disappointed with charging full price on the gate! :(

Anyway 3rd round here we come at home - 4th feb :)

Re: Stanley v Carshalton Coverage Tonight...

My M.O.M was Craney - super skills especially when beating 2 men before having his legs taken away for the penalty. His face was a picture when he thought he was being subbed - the official got his number 9 upside down! Well done Carshalton for a battling performance without any end product, as I don't think our goalie had to make a save of note. Their number 5 gave a good impression of Franz Beckenbauer in his prime.
We'll have to be much more clinical in the final third on Saturday, though.

Been back ten minutes, nice match, excellent night. Carshalton brought some really decent fans, all credit to them, excellent banter and a pleasure to stand with them. Have a safe journey home.

Just back meself. Sorry harwood red you got it wrong bout the cards, Carshalton No 6 was shown a yellow in the second half, other than that, good match, great result, pity only 556 could be bothered to turn up. Thank goodness we have signed Phil Edwards, otherwise Paul Jewell might want him back with the shortage of players that Wigan have at this time. Keep up the workrate and we should have no problems with winning the league and possibly cup double.

P.S. Do believe we were quoted as probable champions in the NLP a couple of weeks ago (as a good bet). Laughed it off then, but maybe not now, bet our price is shorteneing every week

Oooo cheers for correcting me ozzy, thought he was just having a chat with him :D, he seemed to do alot of that!! And was it just me or did the ref prance rather than run??? ;)

Re: Stanley v Carshalton Coverage Tonight...

and he did a rather funny westlife dance routine when signalling a throw in! quality!:D

think he was the fairest ref we'd had in a while, let the game flow even if the carshalton midfield didnt.

Re: Stanley v Carshalton Coverage Tonight...

Interested to see Redraine's comment about CAFC's no.5 - thought he played very well against us Saturday. Am told that he regularly has scouts watching him. Pity about the gate, they might need a few bob if the FA fine them for the idiot who threw a drink can at the ref as he left the pitch saturday ! If you go to their website, their Chairman claims Accy fans / officials "are some of the nicest people in football". As Chis Tarrant says to the spectators on his show - well done everybody. Brilliant representation of our football club and the town.

Oh deary me Morecambe....

so wrapped up in their own failings and serious lack of ambition that they have to come on here EVERY single time we get either a:

-Low attendance
-Lose against a team (doesnt happen very often these days like, so theyre always going back to Worcester)

howsabout CHUFF OFF our forum, go and actually SUPPORT your team - feel free to take lessons from us (that doesnt mean completely copy us with your 'indies' which by the way has the queerest name for an extreme football support group i have ever heard)

fickle part timers; GIVE UP.

jealousy is such an awful thing

Re: Stanley v Carshalton Coverage Tonight...

Well done Carsehalton for coming all the way up here, putting a spirited performance on & were still trying even at 2-0 down. Their few fans made a lot more noise than our lads, unless a symbolic point was being made after deafening the old gimmers in the shed during the first half ie give us a roof Eric! Spoke to the ref after the game, nice sensible guy, just ocasionally misled as was his linesman with the regular crys from the Careshalton players for several offsides that never were. I think the linesman clobbered by the ball in the second half took umbrage over that & went off sulking at the end. Pity as I thought it might have woken him up to make an odd correct decision after! Bring on Worksop!!!!
Somebody mention Morecambe-another fan of theirs that can't find their website?????

Re: Stanley v Carshalton Coverage Tonight...

Just a short message to let you know that, although by rights we all thought we shouldn't have been playing you after Saturday's refereeing farce, I am sure all our supporters enjoyed our trip last night. Stanley were certinly the better team on the night and good luck to you in the next round and your push for promotion. If you have anyone who knows how to score goals, please send them our way to help with our efforts to stay up in Conference South. And finally, please find and dispose of the geezer with the drum. What a pain. Hope to return one day.

Re: Stanley v Carshalton Coverage Tonight...

Hope you stay up; you've got a good team with a decent following.
Even if you need subtitles to work out what you're singing :)
