Barry walked out....

Yeovil fans claim that Barry was not under contract and therefore walked out with a nice signing on fee in his pocket. Evidently you got nothing!

Negotations with Barry started straight after the Exeter game.

True?

maccawozzagod 04-02-2006 18:20

Re: Barry walked out....

absiolute bullsht. Barry was contracted until the end of the season. If had waited until the end of the season we would have got nowt, so we took the twenty five quid whilst it was offered.

Also Twiss and Perkins were spoken to by our management but Perkins reckons he has a big move lined up for June and Twiss did not want the rigours of league football so stayed where he knew he would get none.

Christies Child 04-02-2006 18:30

Re: Barry walked out....

....so therefore it wasn't true.....was it?

Funny how these rumours start......especially when it's from official sources.

Re: Barry walked out....

Barry has said himself it was the biggest decision of his life to choose whether to leave or not..He was under contract until the end of the season...The only bit true in your post is the negotiations...

Christies Child 04-02-2006 18:54

Re: Barry walked out....

.....not according to a member of immeadiate family who was asked repeatably by Yeovil officials if he was under contract. Answer was a definate NO.

Re: Barry walked out....

for negotions to start with a non contract player there has to be a weeks notice to the club. so either way its our decision to let him make his own decision, not just his erm decision.

Re: Barry walked out....

why would any player leave off his own decision when STANLEY just about to play league football !!

Because he was signed by a league 1 team!!

shakermaker 04-02-2006 22:52

Re: Barry walked out....

He had 6 months left on his Stanley contract - FACT
He was offered a 2 year contract by a League 1 club - FACT

which one would you choose?

denise 05-02-2006 01:09

Re: Barry walked out....

sorry! didn't mean like it sounded. Meant that why did he not want to go up to league football as part of a champion squad ?

maccawozzagod 05-02-2006 09:03

Re: Barry walked out....

Coley thought at the start of the season that Barry was not good enough or capable of playing 10 consecutive games in the conference. If you was Barry would you not question whether he would think you good enough for League 2? At the cheap end of professional football you have to take your contracts where you can before you end up unemployed. Good step for Barry moving up two divisions and playing in front of good sized crowds.

Re: Barry walked out....

Christie's Child - you seem intent on stirring things up on here but it ain't gonna work. Even if Anthony had walked out as you claim, what would it matter. Whatever the circumstances he left in it really doesn't matter. He's gone, we've dealt with it & replaced him - end of story

Christies Child 06-02-2006 17:48

Re: Barry walked out....

Sorry Accy Mad,
My info is CORRECT. Has been CONFIRMED as correct. Is already known to be CORRECT within Conference circles. Having been offered a contract 2 weeks ago, it was rejected and therefore was free to negotiate with ANY other club OUTSIDE of the Conference.

Diesel 06-02-2006 17:59

Re: Barry walked out....

Confirmed by who? Some of the others from your knitting circle? Honestly mate, you wanna get a life. End of the day, I don't begrudge Barry moving to a bigger club in a league 2 divisions above us, whether we got anything for him or not. Good luck to the lad

and that told you, you 'staying in t'conference for another 10 years' saddo

you aren't out of the Conference yet. A team in the Conference blew a bigger lead a few years ago. I still think Morecambe and Accrington will meet in the play-offs.

Every time we get futher than you in the league, you have to come and claim that you are the bigger team, and wind us up. Maybe, instead of bieng more interested in us, concentrate on matters at Christie Park

I wasn't querying whether your information was correct Christie's Child - just that it didn't matter what the circumstances of Barry's leaving were. The fact is he's gone and we've dealt with it - simple as! You seem far more concerned about it than we are.

Nothing much seems to be happening at Christie Park though, I think thats the problem! :)

10 years on and still in the same league, you must like going places like tamworth, hereford, halifax away every season

What league was you in 6 years ago?? when we was in
"Northern Premier League Division One"

Ambitions???, Shimps none whatsoever, bless ya cotton sock

not wishful thinking, just realism.

some of you guys are hoisting the pennant above the Crown Ground and with a third of the season to go a lot can happen.

as anthony barry was under 21 would we not be entitled to money for him anyway, contract or not. I think you'll find under FA rules about this kind of thing we are so christies it wouldn't matter whether he was contracted or not we would still get paid.

I think you'll find the considerable majority of Stanley fans are taking each game as it comes and enjoying the great football we have been playing in the league for the past few months; which hints at a real prospect of league football. NO ONE is counting their chickens - we hope for the best yes; but do we prophicise it? NO.
Actually some Stanley fans are fearing for the worst and predicting where we will slip up! Which buries your statement, MR.
The sooner you come out of the closet as a Stanley fan, Morecambe Red, the better - we all know your interest in this club is far beyond banter or an inquisitive voyeur.
On Stanley On :engsmil:

Morecambe Red, you are giving us almost as many laughs these days as a certain "Chief" from the Barrow forum who plagued us in our last promotion season with "forecasts" just like yours. Of course, when we actually clinched it we were sure to come straight back down! Keep em coming, fella, you're priceless!
We all know the fat lady hasn't sung yet.

We know there's a way to go. But it must be really hurting you tiny crustacean numptys to see the league table as it stands and us with a manager who was a favourite player with you and that you could have signed up as your manager AND DIDN'T! Your grapes are as sour as your dumb-ass football team!

I'd be at the front of the que to congratulate Coley IF you EVENTUALLY got up!

has the bubble started to burst at Worksop ?

Outback Ozzy 08-02-2006 00:22

Re: Barry walked out....

Oh dear MR, bubble bursting, I hope not, lets face it, the last team to beat us was from the same division and in a cup competition, we then wen 17 games unbeaten, and lets face it, losing on penalties doesn't count really, the final score was 1-1. Please do us all a favour and return to your board
