Ebay

I have just been on e-bay and have noticed that Stan the Monkey's suit is being sold on there, I think we can all guess by who as it is not an official club auction. Am I the only one who finds this sickening?

Re: Ebay

It has been noticed that over recent days the increase in non-official merchandise on EBAY is becoming more apparent. As the season draws to an end it will be more apparent that people will sell Accrington Stanley Merchandise on the auctions claiming it to be 'OFFICIAL', the only 'OFFICIAL' goods that are linked back to the football Club and which 100% of the money raised is donated back into Accrington Stanley Football Club are sold by the seller: accringtonstanleyofficialauctions please be wary of anyone else selling items that are claiming to be official, as they have no links back to the football club and have not necessarily got proof that it is official. Accringtonstanleyofficialauctions is the only seller that uses genuine Official Certificates of Authenticity signed by the Chairman and Chief Executive of the football club. We cannot be held responsible for anyone else claiming that they have a Certificate of Authenticity, so please be aware for future reference.

hardly appropriate to flog the suit after what the former wearer is now slightly famed for by local tabloids.
doesnt really matter; more the fool who buys the thing.

   Wont he ever bloody learn the dailys will get hold of this and before you know it it will be all over the papers again.

By the way i thought that he had given the suit to the supporters club they payed for repairs to the suit etc so it should be up to them what happens to it, and i dont think he has any right to sell shirts and shorts saying that they come with the outfit as the club provided them for him to were over what was a basic monkey suit.

Just my 2 pennies worth

I think you will find that it is him who is selling the suit not the Club. I think you will also find that he is selling Peter Cavanagh's original away shirt. The less we hear about this person the better.

Get sum new specs man it don't say anywere that the club is selling the dam suit, I just said I thought that it belonged to the supporters club so it should be up to them to get rid of it (sell, burn, rip in to small bits).

Please re-read my reply. Nowhere did I quote anything from a PRAT nor did I reply to a PRAT. I quoted from maccawozagod's post and replied to maccawozogod's post. So instead of telling me to get some new specs PRAT try reading posts properly. By the way you must be a PSYCHIC PRAT to know that I wear glasses. :) :) :)

i seem to remember the suit was donated by butlins where he used to work as it wasnt needed anymore.
no one paid anything for it; so TECHNICALLY he can sell it.

It is his own property, but I would argu the less we discus the situation the better. If anyone wants to buy the bloody thing with a view to burning it or sending it out to Africa or somewhere I’ll help with a couple of bob. But let’s stop pratting about and put this monkey down one way or the other.

 I fink you will find that he gave the suit to the supporters club who paid for it to be fixed and the club supplied the shirts shorts and socks etc so he don't own them does he

sorted

Back to topic; does anyone think that these events will actually be detremental to the club/attendances? I doubt it a lot; the only ones kicking up a fuss will be the usual stiff upper lips making their mountains out of molehills yet again

Doug 15-02-2006 17:15

Re: Ebay

It’s not directly detrimental to the club in my opinion, what does rather surprise me is how people come on to the site claiming to be defending the clubs interest and then express how inappropriate it is for this gentleman to bring the club into disrepute by advertising this bloody suite.

What you fail to realise is that it is these dammed post by post discussions that are drawing the attention of the press and making a non-interest story in to a bit a nastily gossip. Its over, Alan Smith won’t be coming to the ground with or without his bloody monkey suite. Again, if anyone is that hurt by his actions buy the bloody thing and destroy it.

Doug 15-02-2006 17:47

Re: Ebay

Just a footnote to those who might not agree with me that people should have left things alone; one chap is spending in excess of 250 quid on three of Mr Smiths items. I am hopeful that it’s someone who is disposing of these items to end this fiasco. What is of note is that no one had shown any interest until LETs article, which as you know found its story right here.

Lets hope that the purchaser is Accrington Stanley friendly……………God forbid if he isn’t.

Bazf 15-02-2006 18:21

Re: Ebay

Why will they close the club down? Try not to get too wound up whats the winning bidder going to do that would effect Stanley?

I think that you will find that this chap, who has no feedback on ebay, has probably put in outrageous bids so as to win the items and then not pay for them.

How many cockles would they have to sell to raise the money, they would still be trying next year, then it would be to late as we would be in League 2. :D

Re: Ebay

I’m not convinced that this is not a case of two or three people colluding with Alan Smith to cause the club and the supporters as much grief as possible in the lead up to the possibility of promotion, not a bad way of getting even.

I would imagine that the aim is to draw as much negative publicity as possible by mocking the Auction of Official Club Memorabilia. I would suggest that at least two of the people, (one bidder and the seller) are probably the same person using his own money to boost up the prices on eBay.

I see you have a strong opinion on this subject Doug and do not get me wrong I fully respect that. But at the end of the day all of this does not matter and conspiracy theories are pretty irrelevant now. All the incidents are in the past; the individual has been dealt with and is serving his punishment and is obviously carrying out the last motions of a desparate man with these latest chain of events.
The man obviously has a childlike brain (please, ignore the irony) and is sending out desparate pleas for attention because things are not going his way.
I think we should grind this train of spin to a halt now and not continue to humour his foolish actions.
Prawn butty, anyone?
