So anyone back from the game or watched it on sky can give me an update, I had to follow it on the Sky vidprint thingymajig, which wasn't as good as watching or hearing. Ta .:D

Excellent game and an excellent night, if a bit tight at the Clayton End. Another class act by Stanley only equalled by the effort put in by the ultras….Well done.

fantastic first half, shame they were shooting away from us :(. Atmosphere was electric for over 3000 sardines, ha ha. Well done once again to the ultras and to jase for a stunning display of flag waving. JT I really tried to get your flag on TV at the end, hope you saw it :)

Not much from Morecambe tonight until the 2 late substitutions, but if they had played them from the start Craney, Rommy and Rocky would have murdered them in the midfield. We just have confidence oozing through the team now and even though we weren't at our best the result was never in doubt. Todd is growing in stature with every game and we now have a genuine threat on both wings, the first time since the days of Mark Shirley and Russ Payne - marvellous!
Every man is giving 110% for the cause and responding to the relentless support from the Ultras. Can't relax yet though, and a tough match to come on Saturday - will we be up for it again? You bet we will.

What a fantastic strike by Todd - (someone please explain why they were all pullin his hair in the celebration) and how tight an angle was that by Mully?? Two superb finishes and Twiss is still a man-boob 80s Mullet sportin tosspot.... All credit to him for getting Morecambes sole shot on target for the whole of the 90 mins though :)

I thought the first 45 was great - permanently in Morecambes half - 2nd 45 - different story but at least the damage was done - I thought we could have done em 4-0 if we'd carried on the same way we did in the first half but I suppose McIlroy/Harvey had a few words at the interval.. What worries me is why the hell Mike Newell was there - Lutons nowhere near Accy unless Eibo had a word ;) Understandable why Steve the C**T Cotterill (yes Adders, you spoke the truth and were persecuted for it but the difference is Im not a Rovers fan :) ) was there...

As regards to my flag, Id like to thank whoever it was that put it in front of the LET sign at the Clayton End right at the front of the terrace - saw it HUNDREDS of times and yes - Harwood Red - I saw you waving it at the end - I cant thank you enough - I was asked if that was the flag I sent over by loads of people here :)

Interesting reading on www.shrimpsvoices.co.uk They give us plenty of praise and blame Sammy Macs tactics. A few dissenting voices about the state of the ground and Mullins "easy" goal but bragging rights with us I think. Now where is that Morecambe prat who usually posts on here? :engsmil:

They have a cheek to complain about our ground and the entry price for kids is the same home or away end. I too was very disappointed by the attendance from Morecambe. I honestly thought they would have matched halifax but hey ho, they must have felt it in there water, the 2-0 thrashing that is. Having just got back and found out that telewest broadcast broke down for the first 15 minutes of the match, not impressed, however, repeat on at 0030 hours so will record that. Excellent atmosphere, excellent match, top of the league and I'm beginning to believe this will be our year, but only when it is mathematically certain.

P.S. Blackburn Raver, there were actually 3 league managers watching the game, as you point out quite rightly, Newell and Cotterill but also Simon Grayson from Blackpool also in attendance, BTW why do you insist on coming on an Accy web site to post drivel?

think the lads played well in the first half,they stuck together in the second and closed ranks. but i thought morcambe had a disadvantage of not playing on there perfect pitch...................... see attached. the lake usually has more boats in..............lmao:D :engsmil:

we looked class first half..Always first to the ball in the air and on the floor..Beating players for fun it was amazing to watch..2 fantastic finishes won it in the end...I thought morecambe may be a bit more of a challenge but there was nothing there until second half..Perkins is a midget but a good player..Another fantastic save by rob elliot..that was immense...we were immense....stanerleeee...stanerleeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.. .stanerleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

No complaints from me. The better team won on the night and the best of luck in the league, IF your ground is accepted as being up to standard. My understanding is that to date, your ground has NOT been accepted and needs a lot of work doing on it to achieve the standard required.

I don't expect you to accept that fact but I know that your powers that be know the real situation as do others in similar positions throught the Conf.

The team is up to standard, the ground can be improved. I like it that way round. Lots of teams need improvement ( Morecambe is a good example... Perkins and Twiss OK the rest woefull, there No 5 need to get a neck and Kempson looks and plays like a dolloper..... he's changed since he played for us)

as a Morecambe fan it pains me to say this, but you played very well lastnight, and easily look like your position in the league is justified. your defence is solid and i can't remember a time when you looked threatened by our strikers which is embarrassing. you outplayed us all over the field, and we got our tactics completely wrong. have no complaints about the result lastnight. the only thing is about the mfc non league forever banner. think that was a bit harsh, as we are all in this league, and trying to get out of it. i know that's all part of rivalry and stuff but i think it went a bit far with regards to inciting our fans. but you support your team in your own way and you're entitled to your opinion. well done on last night's game and i don't doubt that based on performances like that (whether you believe you were at your best lastnight or not) that you deserve to go up from this League as Champions. and i just hope (and i'm sure a few of you do too) we come up with you!! but playing like we did lastnight, i'm not too sure!!

No need to answer any comments from M'cambe posters - our team did that last night. The opposition reply to our two great goals and superb performance in every department amounted to one decent shot from sub Twiss! All those free kicks in dangerous positions they had and it was more Bend-it-like-Blair (Tony of that ilk) than Beckham. One, if it hadn't been deflected, would have ended up nearer the corner flag than the goal. Frankly, as soon as I heard they'd signed up Mr Brannan when they did I knew they were desperate. Last night he equalled 90 per cent of his performances for Stanley - one of lethal, seering anonymity with occasional bouts of mind-numbing ineptitude. I must praise young Kempson from `Thugs-r-Us` though who managed not to cripple anyone during his otherwise calamitous defensive performance. (Everytime he appears he looks more like a Bentley clone - except in ability). A perfect evening...

Morecambe fans didn't make as much of an impact last night as when we went there at the start of the season.

I saw, then stood with my best friend from school, who supports Clitheroe and Rovers, and came to his first Stanley match because of all the press excitment. He was impressed with the standard of football, the excitment on the terraces, and although not a total convert is planning to attend at least four more games this season.

The dream gets nearer still.:)

OK as I said I don't expect you to accept what I've said about your ground and non acceptance at the moment by the league.

However, I prefer to believe my info from someone who ACTUALLY knows.

The truth will out sooner or later.

I was more than happy with the game especially the goals. Watched it with my cousin and he is determined to come down to watch a match proberly next month. He has told his misses he is going regardless and sod the the footy match he might have to play. If the game is like last nights it will be worth the trip as he reckons its the true game not like the higher echelons of the game down there and up here. True blooded footy.:D

With every thing I've read and reports from across the pond the Fish don't deserve there postion and won't make it through the play offs, thank god we can get rid of them the same way as we did with Barrow, leave them in the conference and the thread posters with them.

there would be no point in Morecambe or any other clubs fans "clutching at straws" because in the event of Accrington not being allowed into the league the only beneficiary would be the 23rd team in league 2 as they would get a reprieve.
People are just pointing out that league clubs dont usually expect the away fans to queue up to their ankles in mud to get in through 1 very inadequate turnstile. And then have to go into 3rd world toilets where the lightbulb is still missing !!
