Management

Next season; whatever the outcome of this season, do you think the same management will stil be in charge at the IES.
Just been thinking because if we do go up then maybe Eric will want a more league experienced management team?
Then again if things all go rear end up then will there be a dilemma as to the 3 year plan for the management to get us into the league?

I do hope the Coleman/Bell/Cook/Lodge team will stay intact as they have performed miracle upon miracle this season! Turning a bare bones squad with the biggest goalkeeping disaster in the history of football into a league conquering team!

Thoughts?

Re: Management

No, Coley has taken us as far as he can take us just like people said in the first season in the conf when we finished 10th,

Course Coley will stay, you dont spend 6 seasons getting us into the football league (IF we go up) for nothing, Coley and Co love Stanley

And why would Eric want to change the Management??

Eric and Coley seem to get on very well and im sure Coley knows What Eric wants and Eric knows what Eric wants

Onwards and Upwards!!!

wont happen. Coleman has the Freedom of the Borough (or will have by the time the Civic Recpetion in May) and can sit/stand/graze his cattle wherever he likes. Including the Home Dugout.

He can always go back to being a Primary School Teacher if all else fails

I rather think that someone is looking through the wrong end of the telescope.

John and Jimmy have demonstrated astonishing capability and are an obvious target for clubs at least two divisions higher.

The partnership may have to be split up if a sufficiently attractive offer is made to Coleman.

Perhaps a Jimmy Bell/Paul Cook management team will steer Stanley through next season ?

It is a stupid thread...just another faeces spreader methinks.

I think the management team have proved they are equal to the challenges from league teams; Huddersfield, Bradford, Bournemouth, anyone?

Coley/Bell forever red!

really just posting what a lot of people up here think.
If things continue to go pearshaped a dream team here for next season would have Jim Harvey as Director of Football and Coley as head coach.

You honestly think Coley would leave Accrington for Morecambe?

Forgive my ignorance, but I'm afraid that I don't understand the reason for asking this question. Is it customary to dismiss the management team when a side attains promotion? If so, why? Is it assumed that a manager can only be succesful up to a certain league and after that he has no value? Does the game really change that much from level to level? I understand the skill level required of the players increases but it seems to me the basic concepts of successful football remain constant.

In an American analogy its the same as moving from triple A to the big Leagues and not many make it that way.
As for Management and coaching, some of the best coaches have made it from the lower leagues and been successful, but like all sports and levels you need to improve with the team and that you will only find out when you get there. :)

That was my thinking. During the first season in the Conference, some comments were made about the management team not being good enough for this league. Obviously, they have put paid to that but I find it ironic for them to be subjected to it once again. Perhaps that is just the nature of the beast.
