You're quite right, of course. But it's such a well-established and much-repeated error that if we attempted to correct it on every occasion that we saw it we'd never get anything else done !

Good article but I have always believed Accrington were one of the founder members of the league, and this is also noted in the football museum in Preston!!! :confused: Ok before anyone points out my school girl error, I know it was accrington FC that were founder members... and stanley are a different team. But I must admit I do see it as one club with a history!! Call it the romantic in me ;) :o
