Money grabbing, unambitious prat, wouldn't have the likes of him, Elding, Twiss etc at the club if it was up to me

£60,000 well spent by Crawley then. ;)

Michael Twiss is the best forward in the Conference.

Not sure what Eric would think of Clare's wages of around £1,500 per week !!

Says you! Give me Mullin any day of the week!

I bet Twiss is on quite a few bob.

btw, why on earth have Morecambe decided on re-signing Rigogogogoglioso? It'll just end in tears...

I personally feel one of the main factors of our current success is because we don't have any prima donas in the squad

I agree there; everyone thought (including me for a time) that we would be lucky to avoid relegation this season after losing our big names Evil & Rory...who'd have thought the bare bones squad would be the unbreakable unit we are now!
Coley always gets it right in the end...:D

The R word never even crossed my mind, but after losing two big name players, neither did Promotion!

Take both Roberts and Craney out of your team and things could have been a lot different.

And to think that we had Roberts on a months trial and that only Craney's word to JC resulted in him signing for you guys, despite being advised by the Alty manager to sign us.

Best of luck in the league. Not sure how the other league teams will react to the Interlink

At the end of the day the most CONSISTENT team won the league.

Well said mate, your'e a good example of how opposing fans should act.

Usually there's sour grapes...i don't detect the slightest hint of them.

Cheers and Thank you Christies Child!

Rigoglioso has been given a contract to the end of the season. The management will be hoping he plays like he did when we got to the play-offs and that he busts a gut to try and get a contract for next season.
I gather he didnt impress for Southport at Accrington!

Only "Justin Jackson in disguise" does that performance justice!

Big miss out on Roberts lol :engsmil: He was waiting for a big club to come in for him :p :p :p

And at the end of the day thats the reason why the alty manager is exactly that :) and Craney had to the sense to keep his word....Shows what commitment can do... now looking very good for a winners medal instead of a playoff one that he would have got a morecambe ;)

The main difference is not roberts and craney but it is Robbie Elliot in the nets!

Re: Daryl Clare released.

or Paul Mullin up front or Edwards, Welch or Richardson at the back (all new signings, all highly consistent).

I f I was a player I would always choose Stanley over any similar positioned club, because it is a bigger shop window. No disrespect to Morecambe but there is very little that is appealing there. They have a bigger ground than us, but it is still not that impressive with its three sides. They have slightly bigger crowds than us (I would discount our last couple and forthcoming crowds as they are not typical) but three hundred people extra on a big open ground does not look, seem or sound any bigger than our compact ground. I would expect Morecambe pay similar wages to us, although their know-it-all , friends in high places fans would probably dispute that. And I also imagine that the facilities, training or recreational are no different to ours.

Morecambe fans make a big deal of the fact that Craney was advised to go to Christie Park by the Alty manager. So what! Craney never said he wanted to or else he would have done. Stanley is a potential global commodity and have always had the ability to punch above their weight with mass marketability. Sorry Morecambe, but outside of Morecambe and your ex-pats, nobody cares about you. Stanley have their so-called romanticism, so even if you follow in our wake we should always be able to outclass you in the transfer market.

I never thought Id hear that when Morecambe trounced us 5-0 that season up at their gaff and the season they won the Unibond... but youre dead on now macca :)

Anyway getting back onto the subject of the topic before it was hijacked by more opposing fans, I agree that Clare is a moneygrabber and it was probably his selfish wages alone AND the club agreeing to pay what he wanted (I bet Coley wouldnt) thats jeopardised the whole club of Crawley Town and why they find themselves in the trouble they are now... So its a no from me...

Jimbo T :horn8:blower

what you mean like winning at Wembley or winning another national cup competition Spalding Cup (aka Bob Lord Trophy) by beating Woking in the final in 1998 !
and we could have won the NPL the year we came up but promotion was certain after winning at Boston. We only had to beat Buxton at home and Colwyn Bay away to be champions but drew them both because nobody cared about winning the NPL.
