Playoffs????
Right seeing as we have now nearly played everyone twice! who do you think are the teams who should be in the play offs
I reckon halifax who gave us two very tough games, Morecambe cause again we have had two very tough games against them, Hereford and Stevenage both who have given us great games Out of them lot it would have to be morecambe to go up with us! Just to keep the friendly rivalry! :) |
Re: Playoffs????
i'd have to agree with you Timmins...Out of them four teams it has to be morecambe to come up with us...

Re: Playoffs????
Personally, hope we win the League at Morecambe (April 4th) then they get in the play offs & we help them to win & they come up with us
Always liked Morecambe However, they got a new breed of fan who sings we hate Stanley so maybe that affection will wear off if they carry the anti Stanley vibe on Tandoori anyone? |
Re: Playoffs????
....just a wee bit of friendly banter, no doubt like a certain banner?
You'll be very welcome at CP next Tuesday..against that very friendly club Hereford. No doubt Eric and co will be greeting the Hereford Directors with total respect! |

Good point, at last. We don't want a redundant banner, do we? Six points, whoever comes up anyway. |
Re: Playoffs????
Hope Grays put on a spurt after we've beaten them and get a play off place, then next year Hereford and Morecambe can fight it out with Chester and who ever goes down with them.

Re: Playoffs????
Hereford, Halifax, Stevenage, Morecambe. I think Halifax will win the playoffs. I think we should then buy Perkins from Morecambe and maybe Stuart Drummond when chester go down..:)
|
Re: Playoffs????
Drummond and Perkins eh? Maybe Blackburn as well. I have no problem with Morecambe coming up in our slipstream. That would be a fun game if Blackpool went down wouldn't it? I dont mind Halifax neither although they have a lot of ******* for fans. Try as I might I struggle to hate Morecambe and like Oggy says we could do with the points next year.

Re: Playoffs????
do you think coley is going to raid the conference's finest talents?
|
Re: Playoffs????
no he will do what he is best at and develop another group of yougn lads to be another successfull team! but may look for league experience in our first year!

Re: Playoffs????
Hi there ! I am a newcomer to this Forum, having only started to follow Stanley, but I have finally seen the light after 50 years, and it will be "Stanley Till I Die" for me too !:) :) :)
I hope that Hereford are promoted to the football league after winning the play offs (assuming that they don't catch us, which seems unlikely), if only for the reason that is there is any justice at all, they should be there. To miss out three seasons running after playing such a prominent part in the league would be incredibly rough justice !:( BRILLIANT performance on Saturday by the way at York, after the Tuesday slip up against Southport - just shows how much true grit and bottle the lads have ! :engsmil: GO STANLEY GO !!!!:not_ripe: :not_ripe: :not_ripe: LEAGUE DIV TWO:engsmil: |

Re: Playoffs????
I think hereford, Halifax, Morecambe and I hope Grays coz I cant' stand stevenage!!!!
But for me I want Halifax, my christmas and new year eating rituals depend on that!!! Also I was lucky enough to go to Morecambe last year with some Halifax fans who made me truely welcome, and another dose of Kempson bashing only enhanced the day!!! |
Re: Playoffs????
Got to agree with Sparkie here, Stgevenage to stay down - especially as Westley bragged they were going to win the league and now they cannot even catch us even if we enter the play-offs (highly unlikely) - so Hereford, Halifax Morecambe and Grays for me, with Morecambe or Grays following in our footsteps.

Re: Playoffs????
I hope Morecambe go up as we have always had goo banter with them and The York Hotel is full of top chaps

Re: Playoffs????
As I live only 400 yards from Halifax Town's Shay ground , I tend to favour them for promotion (a bit nearer than Milton Keynes, don'tcha know).
Regardless of my convenience, however, I think that Town will be a welcome addition - yet again ! - to the Football League because we'll get two excellent games out of them if past seasons are anything to go by. At the moment I'm not sure that Town will enjoy the next few weeks due to the appalling state of the Shay ground which is trying to accommodate both Conference Football and Rugby League . . . often within 24 hours of each other. Alternatively, of course it would be good to maintain contact with Morecambe - despite the club's avowed hatred of us (which I take with a pinch of salt ; put it down to a grudging affection). |
