Championship Presentation
Travelling up to the game on Saturday. Lets hope for a huge crowd to see the trophy presented.
Note the bit in the official preview; it's vital that the pitch is kept clear of fans at the final whistle. Can we all do our bit, espicially the Ultra's to ensure that NOBODY goes on the pitch. The whole occasion is bound to be filmed and the eyes of the world will be on us once again. Lets not give any other club reason to critise our fans. The stewards have done a tremendous job all season, please ensure that we all behave in a sensible manner, so that the stewards too can enjoy the greatest moment in Accrington Stanley's history:) |
Re: Championship Presentation

Re: Championship Presentation
Having re-read the Tamworth preview on the Official Site, it clearly states that the Nationwide Conference Trophy will be presented AFTER the game on Saturday.
With regard to the "under 12 invasion" on Easter Monday; that's my point. Lets ALL help our hard working stewards and take pride in OUR club to ensure that the presentation is a moment we will all remember for a long time.:) |
Re: Championship Presentation
haaa that preview.. glad to see its being read... we dont get many comments about them :)
well done mister t :) |
Re: Championship Presentation
in the telegraph
|
Re: Championship Presentation
please note that any pitch invasion may delay or completely kybosh the trophy presentation.
Just an observation not something that has been said, but obviously the people from the conference won't want to present the trophy if their only photo opportunity is being distinctly hampered by idiots and mini me's on the pitch!!! |
Re: Championship Presentation

Re: Championship Presentation
Maybe they should do the presentation further down the stand at the other side of the dug outs. More rows of seating, people could view from both sides of the presentation, wider concourse, more hardcore and wider touchline at that point..........................
|
Re: Championship Presentation
It did say in the Telegraph that the cup was to be presented before the game. However it does say in this weekend's Observer the presentation will take place after the match on Saturday. Which is probasbly a wise move.:)

Stanley will be presented with the Conference Trophy on Saturday and celebrations should go on late into the night. Have a good day everybody. Glad to see that the preview is read and that all my work is not wasted. |
Re: Championship Presentation
thers no way i can see the trophy being presented before the match, a pitch invasion is inevitible IMO
|
Re: Championship Presentation
I really dont see the need for a pitch invasion. Away at Woking yes, we'd won the league and it was the greatest day in the club's history (still have my grass hehe). But the Scarboro game was embarrising. Chavs and mini-me's running amock....deary me. Any way, 3 pitch invasions in 3 games would slightly over do it n my opinion, so I think we should just keep off and bask in the glory when Cav lifts the cup.
Of course as Smudgie says, it is inevitable ;) |
Re: Championship Presentation
Thats what I'm trying to point out and that's what I'm trying to get people to help with!!
IF there is a major pitch invasion and our hard working stewards don't restore order quickly, IMHO there won't be a presentation. The Conference Officials and the people from Nationwide HQ will not be impressed and the club and its supporters will be shown up on TV in a poor light. All I'm suggesting that ALL present do everything in their powers to assist the stewards and ask the folk they are sitting/standing next to STAY OFF THE PITCH at the final whistle please. |
Re: Championship Presentation
Its the end behind the goals.... lets have a bit of self policing in other words... Ultras just before end of game go to front and make sure no kids go on pitch.. steward got to main stand... cant really see the cow shed dwellers leaping the barriers and running on can you hehehe :)
No point telling people on here not to invade the pitch... what the message to us is to help make sure no others go on :) |

Re: Championship Presentation
why not have a pitch invasion after they present the trophy probably be safer cause everybody will try and rush to the front and whats the point of winning a trophy if u cant inter mingle with the fans thats whats it is all about somebodys bound to get hurt if u cant enter the field of play if theres a crush

Re: Championship Presentation
i think some people on here are hypocritical where were you when we won the unibond league like above we done ours in woking so its hard cheese for the rest of you stinks of elitism no wonder theres a split in the support
youll never be bigger than the club no matter how you try |
Re: Championship Presentation
Rob, can you please answer as to where we should watch the presentation.
I agree we shouldn't be on the pitch, but it is very difficult to see where the trophies are usually presented. Everybody gets on the field just to be nearer. |
Re: Championship Presentation
Just got back from the social club; another mad night!!
Thanks to all how helped the stewards and staff keep the pitch clear and us all to witness the trophy presentation. I'm sure the TV and press pictures will show the world that "the Reds are back in the big time":) |
Re: Championship Presentation
i'm not sure that all the stewards should be thanked!!!
i took a young lad with me to the match who was too small to see properly so i sat him on the wall at the clayton end whilst the team did the lap of honour. others did the same with small children. not doing any harm , not threatening to invade the pitch or anything. that wasn't enough for a couple of stewards who behaved in a gestapo like manner telling everyone to get off the wall. one steward ended up in a one to one argument with a loyal fan and said ,"I telll you what it is,I don't get paid for this, and I don't take s*** off you". well, if this is the case pack it in. On the whole the stewards at stanley are first class but if yesterday is a taste of the future there is no chance of the attendances going up for the football league. Stewards use some sense and descretion please. |

The gate staff and one or two more, all dressed in their red Stanley fleeces were stood at the end of the main stand, just inside the season-ticket entrance, celebrating Stanley's promotion drinking champagne from paper cups. No harm in that you may say. A few minutes later along comes the Senior Steward/Gold Bond Draw promoter, sees a fan having a drink and says "Take that off him, this is a no alcohol ground". People see and notice things like this so come stewards, get your act together. |
