Clitheroe Today
Hello, watched the kick-a-bout today and was wondering 2 things. Who was the keeper who started for us and who was the guy wearing the number 16 shirt? (Before anybody says it, the shirts didn't match the players, eg Cooky wore Welchy's). Are they triallists/youth team players of some sort?
PS: Hobby on the touchline with the Coley mask was hilarious, as was watching the Ultras rip the Clitheroe chavs to pieces :D |
Re: Clitheroe Today
We played 5 trailists in all today, Mike Benayima was the keeper in the first half, apparently he is Jimmy's postman but he played quite well and didn't let anything in during the warm up at all!!!
Number 16 was Julian N'Da a friend of Boco's, they used to play together at Niort in france and he is an international for the Ivory Coast, although I'm not sure at what level. I thought he was immense, I know we were playing against Clitheroe who are several divisions below us but you just know when you see a player who's just that bit special and he's it. He is the first player I've ever seen look completely comfortable and non-pluss playing at centre half with Rocky, and to top it all off he was marshalling the back four without being able to speak english!!! The other 3 lads I didn't catch the names of but I was impressed by the number 17 up front he worked his socks off and deserved his goal even if it did come from the penalty spot. Coley please, please, please can we sign N'da. Pretty please!!! |
Re: Clitheroe Today
I agree, I was very impressed with N'Da, even if I didn't know his name. The keeper also impressed me, kept his concentration well to make a blinding save in the first half from one of Clitheroe's rare attacks. And number 17 played quite well although I was dissapointed Cooky didn't take the penalty...

Re: Clitheroe Today
The guy that took the penalty did as Cooky a cuple of times if he wanted to take it but Cooky said no.

Re: Clitheroe Today
Oh well. Remember when he scored twice against Burscough and then missed the penalty for his hat-trick? Ouch...:(

Re: Clitheroe Today
Who scored the goals today ?

Re: Clitheroe Today
Gary Roberts, David Brown and a penalty from number 17 who was a trialist

Re: Clitheroe Today
Players were switched about alot mate, but basically every first team player got on and Cooky made a superb cameo. If only that free kick had creeped in...
|
Re: Clitheroe Today
good to know that some of the potential signings are making a good impression:D

Re: Clitheroe Today
The Coley mask is now in the possession of Mr Coleman himself, would like to be a fly on the wall when he walks in his local with that on his head....
Mardy Bum! |
Re: Clitheroe Today
The Coley mask is inspired genius. Maybe somebody could knock a few up and we could have some kind of Where's Wally competition for peoples summer holidays?

Re: Clitheroe Today
A quick Google on Julien N'Da came up with details of his transfer from Niort to Rouen in January this year: http://fc-rouen.football.fr/2006/01/...ignent-a-rouen and date of birth, 15 August 85 in Niort, H 1.79m and Weight 72kg.

Re: Clitheroe Today
There were 5 trialists on show at the game:
The Keeper - Mick Bulayima - allegedly Jimmy Bell's postman Defence - Julien N'da - 20 year old french/ivorian centre back previously of Niort (alongside Boco) and currently of Rouen - He was BRILLIANT Midfield - Jay Harris - had something of the Anthony Barry about him (little, tenacious kind of player) - got injured early on and was replaced by Boyd - Andy Bond - he played a part along with N'Da in first goal. Wore Jaggers shirt, for those who were there. Striker - Paul Hopkins - 19 year old forward who came through the Everton Academy and had a loan spell at Darlington this January. Set up Brown's goal with cool touch and square pass inside box, then won and scored penalty to make it 3-1. As far as the regular players are concerned, the only lads who didn't take part were Elliot, Richardson,Tretton, Welch, Jagielka and Todd. I think. Like I said, no notepad. I hope this fragmented info helped those who were there and those who weren't :) |
