Re: Accy v Rovers
Good one - I remember the last time we had a pre-season friendly against them. Result was 4 apiece each, with Steve Flitcroft stepping up to the penalty spot to score our fourth.

Re: Accy v Rovers
Wonder who Cotty will be wanting to win then!

Spotted it now, thanks Ber999T
Hope its full team vs full team, should make for an exciting game of football ..... |
Re: Accy v Rovers
i believe we (rovers) are bringing our full team
if it is, expect a full house, we took 3,500 to pne 2 years ago, so i expect a sell out from our lot, cant wait altho i was told sat 15th, but i`ll take a weds |

Re: Accy v Rovers
the chairman said he was taking a strong team, its the day before we fly to germany i think
we played morecambe last year and took a full team, and i cant see why we wouldnt to a team that is better than morecambe |

Re: Accy v Rovers
"To get you in the mood for the World Cup Final, on Saturday 8th July we will be playing our closest neighbours BURNLEY in a 3pm kick-off. On Wednesday 12th July at 7.45pm it will be BRADFORD CITY who are the vistors. On Wednesday 19th July at 7.45pm our other close neighbours BLACKBURN ROVERS will be the visitors"
Now that just sounds a bit biased in the wrong direction to me. If Burnley really is closer than Blackburn, I would like Accrington to just shuffle west a little bit!!! |
Re: Accy v Rovers
might make an appearance for this 1 :D :not_ripe:

Re: Accy v Rovers
Any news on wether it wil be segregated and an all ticket affair
This would be a great test and warm up of our stewarding staff .... |
Re: Accy v Rovers
The only reason for segregation is if the dingles go along to cause trouble theres no ill feelin between accy & rovers whatsover.

Re: Accy v Rovers
So ? when you play a team like Rovers, who a going to bring quite a few fans, then we should use this fact as training for our stewards last season
Just my opinion |

:p
When you look at there attendance's last season, you'll see what i mean :) |
Re: Accy v Rovers
Looking forward to the game with Stanley, congrats on your promotion!...should be a full house.
How many tickets do you think Rovers will recieve?... we've had 3,000 at Blackpool and Preston for friendly's over the last couple of years and that would be my main concern. Regarding any potential trouble with the knuckle draggers from Burnlah, they would either have to be very brave or very stupid to try anything.......then again knowing that lot would it REALLY surprise you? SEE YOU SOON! |

Seriously it's probably gonna be segregated.....just remember Rovers fans, NO DRUMS ALLOWED ;) |

"Burnlah" are the cavemen that appear to be closer to Accy than Blackburn are :p |
Re: Accy v Rovers

of course it`ll be segregated, like people have said, theres always going to be dingles on the accy side. And our tickets will probably go on sale to s/t holders with 2 away stubs if we get 1,000 or less tickets |
Re: Accy v Rovers
I hate Rovers AND Burnley, for whoever gave me the bad karma, thanks
The segrigation thing should be certain, an all ticket game, with Rovers bieng allocated a set amount of tickets, would be great way to get the season in gear, and also test out the new stewards that are wanted at Stanley :) |
Re: Accy v Rovers
Rovers and Burnley have put support behind Stanley this season, Because the fans live in Accrington.without even knowing the stanley ends will have rovers fans in. what end do you go in if you follow both stanley and rovers like mr eric whalley?
