This is exactly the sort of thing that the club should be clamping down on. I would urge fans not to buy these sort of unauthorised items, either. If you do, you're diverting much-needed funds away from the club.

I agree, surely there should be some sort of royalty payable to the club, kipax even as they probably got the shirt logo from one of his photo's but you won't be able to prove it

The name Accrington Stanley is actually registered to the club as a trademark. However, as far as I can see, the name isn't mentioned. Would've thought that the club crest and shirt were copyrighted; if they aren't, they should be.

And to add insult to injury, the vendor comes from Torquay!

When you have a club like ours, one of the most famous in the country (thats undisputed) there are always going to be people who jump on the bandwagon.

I agree with you all but I must admit - if I used Ebay, Id be tempted to get one of these - sorry club and all that but it looks great IMO :)

I had no problem with myself buying any Stanley items off e-bay. I have some good stuff that the club if they had got their finger out should have been selling. I personally thought that after we got promoted that a commercial opportunity to sell even if it was just a promotion badge was missed as loads of people have asked where I got my badge.

The Accrington Stanley trademark is the property of the club. Those who try to sell unauthorised items are stealing from the club.

I agree that the club should now be getting some promotional merchandise on the market. However, that's no reason to support those who are trying to profit from our success.

I would always buy from the club first if the club where selling any of the items I now have but as you know that was not the case, maybe a new commercial manager perhaps.

You knew you were going to get a reply Bagpuss :) With regard to the Ebay Auctions as everyone knows even if your image is copyrighted it is very difficult to keep tabs of who is selling what. If you go onto Ebay now I bet there are pages and pages of Chelsea and Man Utd gear with their logos on. I agree with anyone who says we would prefer the money they are making to come to the club, that is why at certain times we expressively tell people on the news page to only either buy on ebay from accringtonstanleyofficialauctions or through our club shop. The merchandise and commercial is connected in someway but it is separate in others but we really are doing our very best to get as much money into the club both in the merchandise and commercial avenues we have, I can assure you of that and Bagpuss, boy am I glad your not my boss lol :)

Thank you to the person who wrote this in my karma "no karen does an v good job, she may not focus on the little things like badges which make hardly any cash for the club but has made a huge difference in other areas".

Karen I was not having a go at you personally, I was trying to get the point across that quite a few Stanley fans have been making that the club does not seem to want our money in promotion souvenirs. Over the last few weeks people would have paid good money for t-shirts, badges etc. and even though my karma friend may not agree kids wear badges and they are the future of the club, do I need to go on anymore.
