Re: Welcome to L2 badges

Oh and there doesn't seem to be a trademark on "Accrington Stanley FC"

Re: Welcome to L2 badges

there goes my idea for making a mint selling chronomatic instruments with the club name on. Damn!

KIPAX 30-05-2006 10:34

Re: Welcome to L2 badges

ASFC and Accrington Stanley FC dont seem to be trademarked but Accrington Stanley is... Although Accrington Stanley could cover FC and not be needed.. no idea...... ASFC seems a hole though ?

Re: Welcome to L2 badges

Well from when I worked at the club "Accrington Stanley" was trademarked. Anything with that name on it for sale, other than officially through the club, was reported to the Trading Standards. I have emailed Rob and asked him to check out this badge as it is not official and making money out of the Accrington Stanley name.

Re: Welcome to L2 badges

But you can.... The item isnt passing itself off as stanley merchandise.. its more passing itself off as league 2 merchandise hence my earlier comment.. anyone can use the term accrington stanley.... this forum isnt official stanley but it uses the name and makes money from adverts... lots of people use the name..... your in trouble if you come accross as being accy stanley or as official or part of...

if you look at other threads on this subject you will know i check ebay everyday and alert the club to these sort of things.. i posted this cus its not pretending to be from stanley and i doubt very much they will do anything about it... its on ebay where milions see it so hardly a secret :)

Re: Welcome to L2 badges

just like them shabby looking fridge magnets that appeared on ebay the week after we won the league

KIPAX 30-05-2006 12:16

Re: Welcome to L2 badges

The fridge magnets are exactly what should be removed.. there terrible... Thye are a rip off... but if they havent been removed thats why i cant see the badges being removed when they look less like from club..

I have had stuff removed from ebay.. you fill out a copyright infringement forms.. prove you own the copyright.. one fax and your away...

if the club arnt having fridge magnets and stuff like that removed then i cant see them having welcome to the league badges removed..

all we can do is alert them.. up to the club to follow it through if they think its appropriate..

Re: Welcome to L2 badges

If the club got their finger out and got some promotion badges, t-shirts etc. in the club shop then we wouldn't be tempted by e-bay, nice one Kipax my badge is now on it's way also.

Re: Welcome to L2 badges

there are official promotion t-shirts, when was the last time you went to the shop or ossy mills, there's at least 2 t shirts i can think of.
