Re: Local Residents

... ward councillor Malcolm Pritchard said: "What I would like to have seen is residents-only parking introduced around the ground on match days."

http://www.lancashireeveningtelegrap..._residents.php

Councillor Pritchard was also one of the more vocal opponents of the Council sponsoring Stanley's shirts a few years ago :whack:

They are both Councillors - father and daughter - and I think they both represent Milnshaw ward.

Re: Local Residents

No, he hasn't. Ian Ormerod retired. Malcolm Pritchard is still a Councillor, as is his daughter who was elected this year. Milnshaw has two Councillors.

Re: Local Residents

i can only remember voting once but you could be right .just reminds me i need to get in touch with them to complain about something relevant not about some noise for 90 mins .

Re: Local Residents

yes, you only voted once this time because only one out of the two seats was up for election - the seats rotate so that we only vote for 11 out of the 33 council seats each year and then in the fourth year it's county elections.

Re: Local Residents

haven't been on for a while and have probably missed a linked thread - but just had to ask- why would you live near a footie ground if you take umbrage at the associated vocal support'n stuff ? It ain't rocket science to know what to expect !

Re: Local Residents

For people who moved there 8 or more years ago, there wasn't any noise. With gates of 300, matchdays were nothing more than an inconvenience.
Today there are real issues on matchdays and not just with the noise. Issues to do with policing, parking, public safety, etc.

I believe it essential that the club works with the local residents, which of course they are doing.

Re: Local Residents

The way things are going the club will be agreeing to stop playing football at the ground. they seem to have caved in on everything else.
