Fixture Battle Won

Burnley appealed against thier fixtures clashing with us and have apparently won. So we will not play our home games on the same day as Burnley's home games.
Good news for Eric and the club.

Burnley 'Win' Fixtures Appeal

Burnley Football Club have given a cautious welcome to reports that their home fixtures for the 2006/07 Championship season will not clash with Accrington Stanley.

The Clarets, along with the league new boys, had appealed to the fixture planners by expressing concerns that both clubs would lose out financially if their home games were scheduled on the same day.

And following further consultations with the Police and the Football League, we understand that the decision has now been made to try and ensure both clubs' home games are separated.

Confirmation of that will come at 10am on Thursday morning, when the official fixture list for the 2006/07 season is released.

Don't forget you find out all the details here first and fast by logging on at 10am sharp, so make a date!

I work for Northcote Offsite which is a catering company which runs the Catering at Ewood park for all the suites for teh posh people. I work there through college on a Day release basis so it will be quite hard trying to get day offs.

All though they will be in europe i doubt they will go far but still there games will be on a sunday :D

thats untrue but welcomed as it will no doubt allow the 50 - 60 claret wearing 'stanley fans' to attend home games. Do not start slaggin them when crowd trouble increases after most think they are the best thing since bob lord sank stanley. good times ahead ???

I agee with your point on ppl posting crap about burn and rovers on here but the vast majority of stanley's fan's ARE rovers and burnley fans so you can bet the "stanley fans" who hate rovers will indeed be burnley fans and the same applies vice verca my point is you will get burnley fans and Blackburn fans on here anyway and they will reply to posts slagging their teams off even if they do attemt to disguise their favour by saying they are only stanley fans I mean if it was'nt for rovers and burnley about 5 ppl would turn up to matches as i'd say 90% (thats a generous percentage as I would say more) of ppl on here follow blackburn rovers or burnley aswell

I like rovers by the way but don't hate burnley  is that possible? :D

Wynonie Harris 22-06-2006 05:31

Re: Fixture Battle Won

90% of Stanley fans are Blackburn and Burnley fans? You must be joking! I would say that of the hardcore 1,000 or so Stanley fans, the vast majority are 100% Stanley. I admit that to progress, we now have to recruit Burnley/Blackburn fans, along with the non-aligned, but at the moment Stanley's faithful followers are single-minded in their support. This is why we have been so fed up of the little turf war that has been raging on this forum between fans of the two clubs.

As for the following statement...

Quote:

...are you serious? We should be grateful to the two clubs for supplying us with "ppl"? If Rovers and Burnley weren't around, we would have 3,000-4,000 every match!

Typical 'fan of another club' post, biggest load of tosh I've ever read. Are you one of the 'ppl' that get on my nerves in pubs when I tell you I'm a Stanley fan? "Who else do you support?" I get asked all too often. I actually got threatened by one Liverpool fan, 'cos He swore blind I was lying to him!! Obviously couldn't hold his ale...

do i say i dislike it ? ....NOPE

do i profess to be articulate ?....NOPE...

the only thing i dislike about it is people like you who do not allow others to express their own personal opinion without having to make snidy and somewhat derogatory comments towards others, just because you see yourself to know a few big words and class yourself as being articulate DO NOT frown upon others for having an opinion,

and just to keep this on thread, where would stanley be if it wasnt for "rovers" and " burnley " fans " ?????

if there were no rovers or burnley we'd be a good few thousand fans better off!!! we wouldn't have to compete with non competative mid table drivel that the rovers and burnley calls football. It bemuses me why anyone would want to watch it.

Well, Sparkie has just about summed it up, really, and no, Tealeaf, I don't understand quite a lot of BR's post.

He poses the question, "Do I say I dislike it?" Well, not in so many words, BR, but you certainly do a good impression!

If none of us will "see sense", is there much point in posting on here?

Derogatory comments? This from the person who's just called me a "prat"? And don't forget, BR, after we were unexpectedly defeated by Southport you were one of the first on here gloating that "the wheel's come off", along with the Hereford fans.

Seems like you can dish it out, but you can't take it!
