Re: Red and White Fortnight
the letter will go in tomorrow morning but I doubt I will have any confirmation this week. It has to go through the inspector, who will give his opinion one way or the other and then pass to traffic and the relief sergeant.
If they think that traffic at tea time (7pm) will be compromised then it will be no, if the sergeant thinks that they can't afford to give any officers to it (do we need large presence against Darlington?) then it will be no. Get whatever posters out that you want from now til then Walter, we already have three radio stations and both papers fighting our corner through red and white fortnight so publicising the walk will not be a problem. |
Re: Red and White Fortnight
Just a quick coverage update - part of Saturday's interview should be going out in news bulletins in the morning from about 6am.
There's quite a good audience at that time. |
Re: Red and White Fortnight

Re: Red and White Fortnight
right, I'm going on holiday on saturday and I need somebody to head up the remainder of Red and White Fortnight.
All you need to do is mither the hell out the newspapers and radio every time you get any information that can be acted upon with a 'press release' or photo opportunity. You will also need to mither this and the Ultra website with all information any time something happens. Remember th ewhol point is maximum publicity and exposure. Also I need to put you contact details on the police letter as I may not be contactable to head up the procession. Somebody? |

Re: Red and White Fortnight
well done Vic.
another shop has now put a display up "Passion for Soles" I think its called on Abbey St/Whalley Road couple of days up from the Booze Buster shop. Apologies if the name is wrong I just caught it as I drove past. Scarves, balloons and a large Well done Stanley message. Are there any that I have missed? I dont really get onto Broadway or the Arndale so I wouldn't see anything there until weekend. Anybody offering themselves for newspaper photos? Anybody offering to help out next week while I'm away? |
Re: Red and White Fortnight
I was in town today, and saw the display in the curtain shop, next to Yorkshire Bank, on Blackburn Road. I thought it looked very good.
