rob elliot at charlton athletic

blackburn rovers have signed former charlton athletic keeper jason brown,he was at gillingham f.c. he has gone one a free transfer so does that put rob elliot up in the pecking order at C.A.F.C. and possibly A.S.F.C attempt to sign him on loan again:engsmil:

Re: rob elliot at charlton athletic

its all bollox

he hasnt signed yet... these peple are jumping the gun.. this is why we have an official website.. when you read it there.. thats when he has signed..

the official website wont specualte or publish if/but/maybe like the radio or rivals sites who are just trying to get your attention.. these people do more harm than good... they print rumours and sensationalise to get you to read there site and thus make money from advertisers... same with the radio

official website will have it when/if he signs... anything else is just gossip wether it be radio or other website or newspapers.... signings are the sort of thing the fishy site cant wait to publish and make known... but not until they happen

so ignore the rest... read the best ...and wait until you get it from the horses mouth :)

From Alsager's site (http://alsagertown.proboards12.com/i...ead=1148292210) it seems that Coley has agreed to play but hasn't confirmed the date yet, hence no announcement on t'fishy site. This looks like being a charity match for the Donna Louise Trust (http://www.donnalouisetrust.org/index2.htm), a children's hospice.

Meanwhile, East Fife seem to think we'll be there on 31 July but there seems to be some doubt about the exact venue as they're relaying the pitch: http://www.fifenow.co.uk/ViewArticle...icleID=1576130.

I dont recollect the speculation about Rory coming from me? I do know he told me it was time to move on at the players presentation evening & if that isn't from a close enough source I don't know what is.
Re Rob, I was at the ground on Wed doing some work & was told by someone there, not going to get anyone into trouble by naming names & when have you known me to get involved in gossip, not my style Kipax.

Re: rob elliot at charlton athletic

Stories without source is gossip al. they may be true.. but no one knows.. You probably have been told by maybe the player or staff that he is here for another year and thats probably true.. I believe ya :)

But it doesnt appear on the website or become factual until the paperwork is signed... so where people can say truthfully this that and the other it cant be 100% true or released by the club until paperwork done..

JEFF sarcy comments... read the above :)

Whalley Red 29-06-2006 11:06

Re: rob elliot at charlton athletic

As Accymad said, the source during the Radio Lancashire piece on Monday was an interview with Eric himself. He said they had finalised all the details with Charlton and Rob was here on a season-long loan.

It may be right that it isn't on the fishy site until there's a photo-shoot with Rob, but there's every reason to post breaking news on here, especially from the best source possible ... the chairman!

al .. my point and only point is to defend people knocking the official site saying its not on there. all i am saying is that it wont be until its signed.. if it goes on before then...then soemhting goes wrong at last minute we look like chumps (has happened before, learnt from mistakes) ... so when people moan it isnt on there.. i am saying because its not a done deal yet... for at least the second time.. I ahve not and am not saying he isnt here for the season or that he isnt training.. i have wrote that already... All I am saying is that it cant go on the site until its wrapped up properly..

I know theres a big transition period at the club. with Phil terry leaving as club secretary theres been big staff changes and people with new roles to get used to... But lets face it... this is nothing new.... I would like to see someone at the club with the same passion as me for the fishy site.. someone who wants to see the news on there first... so people will continue to go to the fishy site for news...straight from the horses mouth.... right now ya get it from a once a week paper sooner ...

Spoke to Robbie before the match last night and told him that the question was being asked on here... he would like to say that he has no plans on going anywhere else and stanley is the place he wants to be this season.

There are just a couple of things to be finalised between clubs and player before the season long loan signing is done.

It's a shame the club don't use the website in the way it should be used. I suppose it's part of the learning curve that the club has to go through.

The transition from amateur to professional involves everyone at the club, not just the players. I'm sure it'll all come right soon.

Rob Elliott (Again)

Taken from BBC Sport.......

Charlton keeper Rob Elliot has joined Accrington Stanley on loan for the 2006/2007 season.

Elliot, 20, will be spending a second spell at the club after helping Accrington Stanley to promotion into the Football League last season.
The keeper recently signed a two-year deal with Charlton this summer and has been loaned by the club to gain first-team experience. :not_ripe:

"But there is a clause in his loan move allowing him to return in January."

At least its finally been confirmed, could of done without the clause tho.
