Alsager Town v Accrington Stanley - July 12th 7.45 pm

Hi there everyone !

I do not know why this has not appeared on the Accrington Stanley main website's front page in the fixture list, but I would like to remind everyone that, as mentioned a few weeks ago in a thread, a friendly match is taking place on Wednesday 12th July at 7.45pm between Alsager Town and Accrington Stanley at 7.45 pm at Alsager's ground.

This match is a benefit match for John Brown, who is a friend of Coley's and who has known him for many years from his playing days, and who ended his career this season just gone with Alsager Town. The proceeds from the evening are going to the Donna Luise Trust, which is a charity for terminally ill children, and I know that John Brown and everyone at Alsager have worked very hard to make this a success. It would be great if Accrington could bring as many supporters as possible for this midweek friendly game as Alsager are a very friendly club, who need as much support as they can get, and the charity will ultimately benefit.

For details of how to get to Alsager's ground, please see their website :

I will be making the journey from my home in Berkshire for the match and I hope that as many of you that can make it will do so.

Looking forward to seeing you there and thanks for reading this !

Graham

Sorry to harp on about this, but please can as many of you guys as possible try to get to this game as it is all in a very good cause.

As noted on the other thread, why has this not appeared on the main Accrington Stanley site list of fixtures Rob ? The match has been in the offing for at least 8 weeks and I know that John Brown has been working his socks off at Alsager to make it a success. I do feel that apart from bringing a team down to play Alsager, we should try to bring down as many supporters as we can, though I do recognise the difficulties of it being midweek.

Thanks so much !!!! :D :D :D

Thanks for your response Kipax.

I have just phoned Accrington Stanley and spoken to Hannah, the Club Secretary. She tells me that details of the match will be on the official site today, although admittedly, it is somewhat late in the day !!!

Thanks very much for your support if you can make it down there ! :D

Incidentally, although the official kick off time is 7.45 pm, the teams will be out on the pitch at 7.30 pm as there is a tribute to Simon Pettinger, a local Alsager teenager and Alsager Town supporter, who died from leukeamia earlier this year, and in addition, some presentations I think.

Hope at least some of you can make it !

Thanks ! :D
