Haha! Kipax, do I detect a touch of cynicism there? Or are you just putting into words what a lot of people are merely thinking?

The new shirts are £40. I'm disappointed that they aren't offering the name and number printing on there.

Ah, that is good.

I did email the shop a couple of days ago asking about putting names & numbers on shirts ordered via the internet (what with me living down south, etc), but they have yet to reply.

Maybe they're busy... :)

Re: New home shirt

I can answer most of that.. I made the shop.. Unfortunatly I didnt make it good enough to be able to add something like that (or so I thought).. It can have bits added but the ability to add that was deemed a bit of a no no when asked last season.. yes last season I was asked.. It needed ability to add number (in right range) and lettering (again in range and filtered)

I have since thought of ways it might be added so when ordering online you can choose number and wording.. Unfortunatly all website stuff is on hold ATM until we find out what website will be the fishy one.. seems to be up in the air still.

For now I would make your order and when you get confirmation of your order then quote it and email the club.. they will sort you out by email I ma sure and have whatever you need done:)

I suppose it needed more than just a "number/name" freetext box, in case someone tried to put in a selection that couldn't fit on the shirt.

Yeah, I'm tempted to do that; but given I've not had a reply to the one I sent last week, I'm not exactly filled with confidence that such an email would get matched to the order. (IE is it a case that the email has not been seen, or just that they've seen it but not replied to it.)

I might give the shop a phone call tomorrow, to see what's what.

Re: New home shirt

Anybody washed their new shirt yet? Mine has just been hand washed in warm water and the amount of colour that came out was unbelievable, the white bits are now looking pink, this never happened with last seasons shirt and before anyone says I've washed in water that was too hot should have a look at my jeans, now don't tell me last nights rain was 60 degrees.

Kisser 09-08-2006 10:57

Re: New home shirt

Not washed as yet, but is in the basket. Have always just shuvved my others in the machine. Worried now!

Also, someone suggested yesterday to me not to get the coco cola thing put on the arm as that runs into the shirt.

KIPAX 09-08-2006 11:14

Re: New home shirt

kisser...are you having us on ? your worried in case it runs and bits turn PINK? your worried it will or your worried it wont ? :) :)

Julie stoood in the rain on the clayton end last night... took it off when we got home and commented she thought it looked a bit pink the white bits...

Well its going in wash today and if doesnt wash out then its back to the shop... 40 quid to be ruined when it rains aint gonna happen no matter how much we love the club :) hmm might not put it in wash only to get blamed for washing it wrong... hmm waddaya fink?

I stood next to Julie last night, it must be that area of the clayton end, funny rain. I would suggest hand washing as it will mix with your other washing and you will be blamed no doubt.

I got told it was the cola badge.. but that cant be true.. no way in the rain last night the surredge white bit from collar down would go pink because of cola badge lower down

Kisser 09-08-2006 11:23

Re: New home shirt

Good point Kipax!! :) But no, Stanley are red and white - those are my colours on a matchday! I can live without the pink twice a week! Will handwash for first time. Not had printing on the back of any of my shirts before so want to keep em white.

Doug 09-08-2006 11:32

Re: New home shirt

When I got home last night my white bits had gone pink. I washed it this morning giving it a hand wash in mildly warm water and dried it on the line it’s still a little pink on the Surridge Panel. The writing around the badge is fine and so are the airy bits at the sides.

I don’t think mine is too bad, but I will be a little ****ed off if I have to take it back.

Behave..............:o

Madam, you should have been there in the rain. The hills beyond the coppice end looked wonderful and you could feel the chemical laden rain running down the back of your neck as the rain fell by the bucket load through that big hole where the roof should be.

I think it was one of the best evenings I’ve had at the ground and even though we lost, I think we switched on a warning light for our friends in the North. :)

Any response from the club on this, will a refund be offered if not happy wearing a pink shirt, please let the suppliers be aware of these problems because for £40 it's not good.

Re: New home shirt

I think mine might be ok. I've been sat looking it and it looks a tiny bit pink inside the house. However on taking it outside in the sun light it is definitely white.

I was worried saturday when i wore my new shirt which after the match & no rain turned my under-garment pink when i took it off - put it in wash ready for yesterday with other safe darks & thankfully the white surrage bits stayed white as did the rest of me after a good old lancashire shower at the clayton end <phew>

Would I be right in presuming, then, that it is not possible to order shirts with names/numbers over the internet? Given that there is no facility to amend the price of the shirt to reflect the additional cost of the additional amount for the printing... (Even if the letters/numbers could be emailed as per Kipax's suggestion in an earlier post.)

KIPAX 09-08-2006 19:52

Re: New home shirt

As its so much per letter then no.. if it was a set price for having a name printed then it could be done.. its not knowing if you want a 3 or 6 letter word or more... or single double number.... too many permutations..

Like I say there may be a way.. but it will take some doing and thats not happening while we dont even know if this site will be the official site for the season... may be using a whole new site..

If you don't like it tough but not content with ripping me off an extra £44 for my season ticket I now find I was sold a shirt along with a lot of other fans that will not be the offical shirt that the players will be wearing.
http://fifa07.ea.com/news/?id=8626&ntype=l&delta=1

Now don't tell me nothing was finalized when I bought my shirt 2 days ago, what I want to know is will you exchange my shirt for one with the new logo on, somehow I doubt it.

Rob & Sparkie if I feel annoyed with the club I will voice my opinion but I will always follow my team, on Stanley on.

Valid point Bagpuss, cant understand why shirts have been sold slightly incomplete, i bought mine last friday & theres no fifa thingy, so not quite a replica shirt, specially at £40 a shot as with other big clubs, cant understand how come its missed off most shirts?

Re: New home shirt

To quote Sparkie:
"Accept it the club is going forward whether you like it or not"
"WE ARE FOOTBALL LEAGUE NOW"
"THIS IS A LEARNING CURVE AND EVERYONE IS GOING TO HAVE TO BE A LITTLE PATIENT"

All the above might well be true but the fact is we have been sold a shirt that turns the white bits pink with or without water. The shirt runs into other items of clothing even after 3 or 4 washes and now even though its good for the club we find that the shirt we bought is not the one the players are wearing. Come on admit it if you had bought a shirt from say Woolworths it would have been back to the shop now for a refund or replacement.
Even Man Utd with their countless shirt changes have never pulled this stroke with sponsors names.
The problem is do you just accept it as a learning curve or do I return the shirt as poor quaility as I have been told quite a few supporters want to do.

Fatso 11-08-2006 11:24

Re: New home shirt

I don't believe the Coca Cola badge is supposed to be there as a default; am I right in thinking that the badge the players wear on their shirts depends on the competition they are playing in at the time? Thus one badge for the League, one for the FA Cup, one for the League cup etc...?

Or have I completely made this up in my head...?

Don't think so, even in the conference the badges you could have put on the sleeves were bought separately if you anyone wanted them. Haven't washed my shirt yet so am keeping my fingers crossed on that one.
