Dunbavin & Harris to sign

Today's LET:

Accrington Stanley manager John Coleman has agreed one-year deals with goalkeeper Ian Dunbavin and midfielder Jay Harris.
Both players, who featured in last night's 4-1 win over Northwich, takes Coleman close to completing his squad for the red's return to the Football League.
Coleman said: "Ian has done quite well. He's been quite positive, proactive and a good talker, and I would like to think he would be competitive with Rob Elliot."
Meanwhile Paul Mullin is expected to play some part in tonight's friendly at home to Blackpool after recovering from a hernia operation.

Wonder if Mr Harris has got a better offer? Curious to say that we were the only club giving him a chance and to think I quite liked him as a player as well

According to the Western Daily Press, Yeovil haven't given up on Roberts yet: http://www.westpress.co.uk/displayNo...folderPk=69656.

On Sky Sports last Friday

Quote:

After the disappointment of leaving Everton, Harris admits the club have given him a lift and is hoping to repay them by helping them to back-to-back promotions.
"I am made up to come here. All the fans, players, the manager and the chairman - everything about the club is great. There is no negativity, everything is positive," Harris added.
"It was hard when I was released from Everton as I was let down by a few clubs, so I am just made up that they wanted to take me on here. I would love to press on here and hopefully we can go up again."
I wonder what happened to change his mind ?

I wonder if he has the same problems as gary roberts had, a dodgy dealing agent?

We know how eric doesn't like those!!!

Re: Dunbavin & Harris to sign

good news.

Have to say Harris looked impressive in the friendly against Blackpool.

As for Dunbavin we needed a 2nd keeper so i guess he fits the bill.

Looks rather soild, and is experienced.

Think we could do with a long term number 1 soon tho.

On fishy site now that Ian Dunbavin, Joel Byrom and Jay Harris have all signed this afternoon.

Good news, glad that Jay Harris had a change of heart & Joel Byrom looked very promising in the pre season games. I'm not so sure about Dunbavin ( I keep picturing that unfortunate goal he let in when playing for Halifax against Carlisle) but he has plenty of experience and I'm sure he'll do just fine as a no. 2 keeper

... And Ashley Foyle as well, he assures me. Unless he read the contract wrong and it said 'Assistant Groundstaff' at the top.

Re: Dunbavin & Harris to sign

Yes, Foyle has signed. He's on the official team photo in the LET.

We have a nice tidy squad thats almost formed with a nice blend of youth and experience, now lets just wait for this mystery striker we are bidding for :)

Re: Dunbavin & Harris to sign

Pleased to read about Foyle.even though I ain't seen him play. The messages here make him sound like a confident type and I myself like that in a player.
The NZ national side (all be it minus 12 or 13 first choice players,)play Blackburn next week and they were to have a bloke called Jeremy Brockie playing.however he has injured himself and is out of the tour.Shame that as he is a real exiting prospect.Would have been worth a second look over by someone from Accy.

Re: Dunbavin & Harris to sign

Great news all these signings, but does that now mean JC is NOT looking for the extra striker? Great to see Rob Elliots terms and conditions have at last been sorted and he has signed as well

sparkie 03-08-2006 17:26

Re: Dunbavin & Harris to sign

no coley is still looking for a striker as both elliot and dunbavin are keepers, byrom and harris are midfielders and ash foyle is a centre half.

Roll on this other forward
