IMHO it will not rain until lunchtime on saturday. The temperature will also drop at that moment in time to around 60 degree and the wind will pick up giving an extra wind chill factor of minus 10 degree. I'm going on holiday around that time.

Re: Today Games Vs Blackpool

Won 1-0 - one of the triallists from range. To be fair though, Toddy, G.R and Andy Mangan all wasted gilt edged chances - crowd of 735 give or take a couple. Stadium announcer was inaudible all game. From a personal point of view, although Blackpool came with a strong side as well as some triallists, I do not think Accy have anything to fear about league 2 if that is the standard of league one teams. Rory his usual self, until Gary Roberts showed him how to do it in the second half, did not like that one bit and almost got booking/red card for it - taken off couple of minutes later. Paul Mullin played the first half of the match and looked a little ring rusty but now doubt the shooting boots will return to normal sooner rather than later. A stroll on a sunny summers evening not the most exciting match to watch, but the right result

What you wasn't there?

1 - 0 Stanley. I can't remember who put it away. For a good evening well spent. Only 700 plus on the ground with some very strange folk with Tangerine shorts on. :)

I will be popping down to Bloomfield Road Tomorrow to ask them to sign my poster....:D :D :D

Wish I'd have seen this post before I set off tonight I could have popped in the Crown before going to the ground, never mind.
Macca I was looking out for you tonight to congratulate you on the green away strip joke.:)

Roberts couldn't show Rory anything. He's literally not in the same league. Coleman wouldn't have got rid of Rory if he could have picked up a scouse accent.

On a lighter note Rory says that he would be surprised if we don't at least make the playoffs this season.

It may well have been in the Evening Telegraph, but it aint on the fishy site, so as far as I am concerned he's still on trial. However, if he has signed a deal then fair enough

Are you joking? Even Rory said himself he wouldn't get in the team instead of Gary last year. Gary looks sharp and everytime he has the ball this preseason the defenders don't know what to do except back off and you feel something is going to happen, as for Rory, Ventre had him in his back pocket..

It isnt on fishy site because he hasnt SIGNED yet. He has only AGREED. Remember Matty Dougherty or whatever his name was? Changed his mide at last minute and buggered of.

Very True Alvin !! :D , like zayno said when garys on the ball , defenders back off , and we all know what gary can do, he is a level better then rory! he has skill and plays great football!!:D

Gary looked fantastic last nite.

Have say mangan looks twice as sharp as he did last season, can really see him causing problems with his pace.

Was impressed with the trailist who scored.

Couldent resist a 5 quid bet on stanley to win it, 16-1 hehe GET IN!

What a fickle bunch some of you are! Can you not just accept that Rory was a great servant to the Club and helped them get where they are now? There is no need to boo his every touch.Didn't hear the Blackpool fans booing Mangan at all.Roberts showed his skill by plonking the ball in the sand behind the net from his corner kick and looked totally disinterested throughout the game;if the ball doesn't land at his feet he throws his arms up in the air like a petulant child and stands there watching the action around him.
Call me biased but I know who I would rather have wearing the number 11.

So do i and thank god he's playing for us..To be honest the only thing i would say Rory's game is better than Gary's is his pinpoint crossing, other than that Gary would be my number 11 every game but you have another opinion and i respect that..

Great servant to the club yes but if he wanted our respect why did he celebrate in front of us when the rest of his team ran the opposite way against halifax???

That makes him a arrogant prat in most fans eyes so thats why he got booed for everytouch simple really isnt it???

Re: Today Games Vs Blackpool

Rory has looked poor in both games I've seen him play against us, looks slow and struggles to keep hold of the ball. Also, when Rory left, I was hoping he'd do well at Blackpool, I respected him, until the Halifax away match. Kissing their badge and celebrating right in front of us? Ex-players that come up against their old club either show their respect or disrespect in my opinion. When Henrik Larsson scored against Celtic, he did what he was paid to do, and looked almost gutted as he walked back to the halfway line, he was cheered and treated like the Legend he is at Celtic. If Rory had just celebrated with his team mates, he'd still have the respect he earned whilst he was with the Club. As it stands, he's lost respect from most fans, except the brown noses...

Coley has proven himself to be one of the best managers in the country... Show me one other who has led his team forward every season.. never going backwards.. improved the clubs position every single season... I dont think theres a more succesfull manager in the league or non league

Not my opinion either..

I must've missed the part where Coley said 'I've lost respect for Rory because he kissed Halifax's badge in front of the away fans' then. As I've already said, I had no problem with him leaving, and was keeping tabs on his progress via a friend who follows Blackpool. But the way he acted showed a complete disrespect for ASFC and it's followers.

Oh, and Coley isn't the second coming, he's God himself :D

Re: Today Games Vs Blackpool

IMHO, I thought Rory's beheaviour at Halifax was justified after all the **** he took from our fans on that day; which was the only time I've wanted to distance myself from the rest of the Stanley following.
By the way - I never really liked Rory Prendergast as a bloke or a player but no ex-player deserves that treatment after assisting the club's progress.

Also, I find it hilarious how Coley is being criticised. For what?!

Could it be that we have a dead-end team & are never going to get out of non league?
Wait no...that'd be Morecambe.

We're in league 2 with a good chance of doing very well - how can anyone criticise a side who has produced the results?
Sometimes I think people don't want us to succeed.
Which would explain the North West Counties way of the Official Supp...I'll shush :p

I think Coley is doing a great job for Stanley as you would see if you read the post earlier where I agreed with Kipax, and at the moment we have only the one really duff player. He's very shy when it comes to tackling, throws his hands in the air like a prima donnawhen a pass doesn't land at his feet, instead of going after the ball, and anyway he does not want to be here.

Ossyclogger, either you need to visit Specsavers, or you've been watching a different set of pre-season friendlies. Gary Roberts was one of our best Players over the course of last season, and has been shining brilliantly in the pre-season friendlies, most notably against Burnley.

I can't actually beleive what i'm reading! Gary Roberts a duff player? I'd love to have ten more duff players with his ability in my team, as for knocking Coley because he may have made a bad signing in the past then again so has Ferguson/Mourinho, i'm thinking there is only one childish person in here and it isn't Timmins :)
