Well done Stanley

A tremendous, hard working performance by your side tonight and a fully deserved victory.

Nice to see our old keeper Bavo playing well too. :)

Didn't see the game regretably (moved house and no sky dish yet) but well done......about bloody time!

Next rumour - Roberts to Forest?

Yep, well done! Tuned in to watch Bavo. He can play a bit, can't he? When you were thinking of signing him, I said, "go get him". I don't like to say I told you so, but I told you so! You've done our division proud. We'll try and do the same at Brum tomorrow, but I can't promise!

Gutted not to be there tonight, but immensley proud of the way the team played, we were without a doubt the better side tonight.

Dunbavin was an absolute Hero, Rommy deserved the Carling MOM, and Mullin was well Mullin.........nuff said............WONDERFUL result!!

Re: Well done Stanley

Having just got back from the match - great atmosphere - Nottingham Forest who are they? Great result for the team and supporters. Every man jack of the red boys played their hearts out for Stanley tonight. I wouldn't like to say who should be man of the match, they all should. Dunbavin some excellent saves, Roberts, Craney, Todd and Boco all linking up well, Mullers holding the ball up when necessary and the defence was rock solid. Keep it up chaps from now on. Next up the 'Dale, hoepfully tonight will entice a few more back to the fold. Lets hope so. Sky probably accounted for 1,000 not turning up, work commitments etc the rest. For those that missed it, it was one hell of a match.

Best team just about won on the night. Told you in another post that it would depend how many 1st teamers he would drop/rest. proved to be 10000% correct

Tonight was the first round of the Carling Cup, if you are suggesting that your manager fielded an inferior team then I would suggest you call for his resignation. You weren’t playing Blackpool </ST1:ptonight you know, you where playing ACCRINGTON STANLEY. Remember that. :)

Re: Well done Stanley

there was only 5 changes from you last league game...so maybe a weaker tema but dont try and take it away from us by saying that...we beat ex european cup winner ffs!!! :)

ExLandlord HUFC 21-08-2006 23:25

Re: Well done Stanley

steady on a bit, ex european cup winners was a long time ago - how many of that team were playing tonight? However, you needed that result - Rochdale All Stars next and we have them the week after on their mudheap.........could be an interesting pair of results! Oh, BTW Barnet are ****, we had an "off" day:)

Re: Well done Stanley

Well done Stanley. Good luck in the draw for the next round. I watched it at my brothers and they played well. They didnt stop harrassing the forest players for the 95 mins. We couldnt believe it when they put 5 mins up for extra time we thought it was only roundabout 3 mins at the most.

cashman 22-08-2006 00:09

that result has made cashy one very happy bunny. well done stanley.

maccawozzagod 22-08-2006 00:20

Re: Well done Stanley

sorry for spelling firstly:

we were fantastic tonight, the players gave everything and I think so did the fans. Tonight the Clayton End had a real go, not just the Ultras, but every man. I looked down during one song and the front row was joining in and clapping and all along the line I could see joiner inners!! It makes a difference!

The people that sing the songs will sing more if the noise gets louder. iF YOU LIKE THE NOISE THEN HELP US MAKE IT!! Tonight was immense, can we do it against Rochdale?

Oh behave, The European Cup winners are all over in their 50's now so you didn't exactly beat them.

And I did say earlier about that it would depend on what team he put out, and I was right, dropped both strikers, two midfielders and left back.

However, the ones he did put out should have been enough to beat you but couldn't be arsed. - shameful and amateurish.

Anyway, good luck in the next round - you'll need it.

glosterred 22-08-2006 08:26

Re: Well done Stanley

fantastic result tonight which sadly i didnt see...had to listen to five live going on and on and on about how many balls we must lose given the small size of the ground.
if forest didnt have the respect to play their strongest side as has been suggested elesewhere then they are stupid...stanley may be the new boys in the league but we are NOT the whipping boys. all this bleating by other clubs fans about crowds ground style of play ect is just like last year in the conference. the only important thing are results and last night the best team won.
whens the final???:D

That my friend is the root problem - stupid arrogance by players not fit to wear the famous garibaldi.

If the first team had of played then we would probably have won, however we didn't and we got exactly what we deserved

Again, good luck

Jay Harris was another who played very well last night, he didn't stop running and broke the forest play up numerous times..The more i see of this lad the more impressed i become..He likes a tackle and will play long adventurous balls...Come On Accy!!

Looks more like we've replaced Anthony Barrie every time I see him. Amazingly, for such a little'un, he wins headers too!

Re: Well done Stanley

I fully enjoyed the game last night but had to stand with hands deep in pockets when goal came (as stated before I was in the Coppice [Hollands Pies] End)

Just hope that club get a good draw (when is it drawn?) and another home game and a FULL house.

Yes it was a shame that there was not more there but I bet ALL of the Accy fans enjoyed it.

Not to put too much a dampner on the team as Notts not played FULL squad (should they not be fined???) but I think if it had been the full squad the way Stanley took game to them I doubt if full squad could have done any better.

Bavo was brill in 2nd half with some great saves and seems to be happier at going for the ball in the area.

What a game -what a result! Best night at the FES since we beat Bournemouth in the FA cup on that freezin December night. As someone else has said I couldn't have picked a man of the match, they all deserved it. Well done lads and roll on Saturday when we see who we get next

Mmmm even the most blinkered AS fan would have to admit the tables turned when the subs came on, pity they didn't flipping well start. The rest were a disgrace

yeah maybe the tables turned because we brought on two defenders at the same time you made you subs...we were always planning to sit back on a goal lead :) even the most blinkered NF fan could see that :)

Loads of compliments from the premiership followers I work with down south - and as King John says, why should the lads do owt else but let the oppo worry about them from now on.
A spanking for Rochdale on Saturday is whats wanted next - but can they replicate that workrate ? - they must be knackered !

haha, watch more stanley games, the table turns last 10 minutes no matter who we playin an who the subs are, we always just think ah well, its over, before the whistle, which is silly but ah well

i'd just like to say, i hope u all enjoyed the goal, i nipped round to the toilet to hear "wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey number 10, paul mullin", was gutted! good job me mum had taped it at home for me

Got to agree, he/she has been one of the more sensible/fair minded opposing commentators on here during the time I have been reading/contributing.

Best of luck to NFFC, as long as they don't play us!

Sometimes think Coley just misses a trick by not freshening the team up for the last ten minutes, the two substitutions against Barnet were overdue (IMO) for instance.

Then I remember I'm a soap opera character, and a dead one at that, and Johnny Coleman is a football genius.
