There's No 'r' In Caling

Did anyone else notice our usual deliberate mistake in the programme for last night's game ? On the front cover was 'CALING CUP ROUND ONE'

I noticed it. I seem to be naturally drawn to things like that.

Mondays program reverted back to Rob Heys doing it.. and to be fair I think he has bigger things on his mind... or should I say smaller things.:)

Should be back to Karen for next one and you all have to admit the program has come on leaps and bounds... thats not even me being nice... it has... Just hope they change a few pics soon.. its not as if they havent got a decent choice is it :)

Maybe they need some professional input, or a voluntary photo editor Mr k. :)

Well they havent listened to that suggestion for the last couple of seasons so I cant see them using there noggin now :( I have been advocating a panel of contributors to work on the program. sit down at a table.. design and come up with plans, style sheets and blah blah and most important a proof reader... but no :(

Look at Cavs collum.. delighted at our win against Barney ... who the * is Braney when he is at home :)

using a spell checker doesnt help if you sit there clicking OK .. or else when you get to Telly and spell check doesnt recognise the word you end up with tele.... just like it says in the program "quite a good record on the tele" :)

oh well.. like i say.. its still a massive improvement and the best program we have ever had IMHO

Well, I proofcheck for a living (although you wouldn't always think it from my posts!), so I'm quite happy to do it.

Oh theres no shortage of volunteers for lots of jobs with the program from photo and design tio proofreading..... there just always ignored..

Mmmm maybe thats a good idea for the club, if they need volunteers is to post about it on the message board as to what they need & the kind of people suited as you never know what talent lies here thats needed by the club as Wynonie has something he's able to do & offer.

I'd volunteer to help them but would depend on time plus where if its net help then thats no prob, so be handy to know whats needed & details.

Food for thought though :D

Best make sure we misspell it again if we're at home in the 2nd round :)

If there is no R in Carling in our programme there's definately no f in cup in Nottingham?

Doesn't this just add to the tinpot charm of the club?

Re: There's No 'r' In Caling

The programme has come on in leaps and bounds recently but there is still room for improvement. Errors like the one Jeff spotted do not reflect well on the club's professional image and can easily be eliminated. All it takes is for someone to proofcheck the artwork and sign it off - standard practice in most organisations. Jeff was doing the club a favour in pointing it out...so why the heavy-handed sarcasm?

Should the printer not proofread the content after laying up and before committing the programme to the final print?
