Maybe the organisation (also known as) Accrington Stanley Supporters Club should consider a name change...

The reasons for non-attendance to the meetings have been exhaustibly discussed on here over the last three months or so. Following the next AGM (see sig) we will be hoping that under a new committee (no disrespect intended towards the present one) there will be a new direction, a new focus and hopefully a new, reinvigorated Official Supporters Club. Shall we save a seat for you Felix?

because its the only one that has the official backing of the club. The money does go back into the club one way or the other, but how that happens is up to the members.

If a majority vote decided to pay for the roof then is what would happen.

Likewise if the majority decided to pay for Tommy Walsh to come and gove the referees room a makeover and make it all nice like ("f@:k!n over my dead f@!k1ng body" - Doug) then that is what would happen - with the clubs permission of course.

The club cannot tell us what to do with our money - hence it is a separate entity entirely
But likewise they can refuse us permission to do whatever we decide. Just like I cannot come and paint your house pink for you no matter how grand a gesture that may be.

How about doing your fundraisers through the year and then at the end of the season put an advert in accy observer saying we've raised this money now we are looking to give it away and ask for deserving causes. You could give out grants and it could be from all over hyndburn instead of just one cause. Like a nursery for some toys, an oap home for visit from someone, a school to help pay for a trip etc.

In a perfect world that would be a great idea but, could you imagine all the requests and begging letters we'd receive...It would cos us more in the price of stamps to reply to them...;)

I think the ideas that have been mentioned last meeting are a step in the right direction, what we need is more ideas and NOT people pouring cold water over ones not aggreed on yet.

If folk can make the next meeting(THE AGM) they can voice their oppinions, place their vote and save the OSC from almost certain death.

In fairness, Official Supporters Club was an appropriate name. Funds raised by the supporters club went to the football club - as you would expect to be the case.

To me, choosing another charity to raise funds for doesn't seem like a typical item on a supporters club agenda....Clearly I'm missing the point

It's no bloody wonder we are and have had problems with certain aspects at Stanley, you certainly have missed the point.

I won't this time mention season tickets:mad: ;)

Lets stick to the clubshop and the online store, remember you did ask. Where is the stock? It's a joke that in the season where we should be selling more stuff than ever before we find there is nothing to buy. I don't want to hear that it's because it's all been sold, because that would be a lie.
Supporters log on to buy for an example a beanie hat, any colour would do, sorry none available, this has been like this for months, so you go to the clubshop none there too, 2 more weeks before delivery, bull*hit.
Ok then no beanie hats then I will buy a baseball cap in say Stanley colours red, same again none available online or at the shop or the other outlets in Accrington.
Ok then lets buy a t-shirt............ I could go on for ages going through a list and other comments made by family and friends.

Get your act together it's not good enough, start by explaining why there is nothing to buy, is it a lack of investment, staff, I'm not in a position where I can make a difference only point things out and have a moan but if the same problems arose at my place of work heads would roll.

To quote Tin Monkey from another thread "I've grown a little tired of banging the 'internet sales drum'. It's an enormous lost opportunity and that's a shame, but the likes of me going on about it isn't going to make any difference."

Says it all really.

the fact we had a 2-2 draw with bury on tuesday its now 20pm on sunday and except for the result on the top of the page which i guess kipax enters into the database then there is no update from that game, nothing!

surley its only a 2 minute job to stick a pic of gary roberts goal and a small match report???

as well as that no preview for tommorrows game, if anyone was to log on they wouldnt even know we had a game tomorrow!!! unless for the small fixture thing at the top!

really think we need someone to run the website and not have it as it is at the moment, whereby its a side job for the staff at the club

keep up the good work though :)
