Re: Accys best asset
fifty grand offer from Yeovil was an insult at best. He started slowly this season but the last few games he has mesmerised good defenders. Joint leading scorer in the division as well. Championship clubs should start the bidding at around three hundred thousand plus add ons.

Re: Accys best asset
Gary Roberts is the obvious choice, but after the last few games, what about Toddy and Rommy and even a shout for Bav's

Re: Accys best asset
It's very strange that you all think Roberts played so well last. Two commentators on 2BR didn't have a good word to say about him throughout the whole match.

Re: Accys best asset
I am one of the aforementioned fools.
I am not arguing. I am indeed a fool, and as someone who talks about football for a living, clearly wasn't knowledgeable or skilled enough to get a jon WITHIN the game. The Gary Roberts comments came about through the sheer frustration of watching him. I like Gary very much. He is an extremely talented footballer, and a very nice bloke to boot. And when he deserves praise (as in for his recent run of goals, which has been sensational) then he gets it. However, on the occasion in question, at Bury on Tuesday, I did criticise him. Having sung his praises for the goal he scored and the work he did in the final and middle third of the pitch, I was extremely alarmed by his tendency to try a stepover, or a flick or any kind of trick at any opportunity. Perhaps I am alone in thinking that attempting a stepover followed by a pirouette inside your own half whilst defending is not something to be praised or encouraged. And as for having an "agenda" Redraine, I am extremely offended that you could make any such judgement without even listening to a minute of the coverage in question. |
Re: Accys best asset
I unreservedly apologise, Dan. I was daft enough to take the comments of the listener "that they didn't have a good word to say about Roberts" as verbatim.

Re: Accys best asset
Don't worry about it
I'm not bothered if people disagree with what I've said, but it just annoyed me that we were getting stick for something that a 3rd party had said we had said. If that makes sense!!!!:D No hard feelings At the moment, Gary is the club's biggest asset in terms of value and potential. |

Re: Accys best asset
I have to agree that on current form, I would say that Gary Roberts is the player who may be the club's best asset - but then all of them are,and without them, Stanley would not be where they are today ! :D
