HAving a hard time of it @ the Port who must have some of the most miserable fans in the country. Check outb their forum, many have avatars that read "get this man out of my club"

Anyone up for a show of support at Haig if we get a chance when ASFC aren't playing?

Keep the Faith Cookie:cool:

I know I will get slagged off for this but so be it. Cookie was shown lots of respect when he was with us and when he left, they are bottom of the league so the crumpy Southport fans have a point, like Gary he has gone but last night 850 ish fans turned up to watch the Carlisle game, my point is don't waste your money on watching Southport even if it is to support Paul.:)

Anyone up for a show of support at FES when ASFC ARE playing, especially when it's all pay.

What do Scouseport fans expect? Automatic promotion? Remember they lost a hell of a lot of good players with going full-time this season, plus with the money available Cooky cant exactly make miracle signings, although Maamaria was a superb bit of business. The problem with them is they are inconsistent. Theyll lose to the likes of Forest Green etc aty home, but then draw away at Oxford . Go figure.

I have no doubt Cooky will keEp them up.

KEEP THE FAITH SCOUSEPORT!!!

This has nothing to do with you missing a game.:)

Mike Marsh has now also left...

Re: Paul Cook

maybe we should offer Marshy whatever money Cook was on to be a coach. Top bloke while he was here and hasn't settled anywhere since. When you've been at the best nowhere else is good enough.

Good idea, in my opinion Marshy should have been persuaded to stay on as in a coaching capacity when we went up into the Conference. Not surprised he's left Southport, their fans weren't that happy with his appointment in the first place.

We have a Manager, an Assistant Manager and a coach (Andy Dibble), how many more do you want. Don't you think we would be better off spending the money on players instead of more coaches (if we have the money).

if you think about it the money we got for gary isnt going to go far. if we bring another player in, say for 125k for a striker, then after 2 years wages the money gone. shouldnt of sold him without having a replacement already, why sell to buy, ?

It is only last week there was talk of Paul Ince coming as a coach or player coach. In that respect I would rather have somebody here who knows the set-up and has something to offer. Coley has always liked to have the older, experienced head around and clearly felt that Paul Cook had something to offer the team.

But yes I do think we would be better off putting the money towards something else. I have always wondered what a goalkeeping coach does for forty hours a week. Have we now got a better class of goalkeeper or is the coach responsible for the wonderful saves we see week in week out? We still see frequent errors though.

In the wake of Paul Crichton, I see it INCREDIBLY important to have a goalie coach!!
