Re: idea

lots of clubs do a season long raffle for getting on the Official team photograph. The problem at the IES (imho) is that their are loads of different people all trying to get a quid of you every game. I'm not knocking it because they do very well out of it, and it is obviously keeping us afloat. Maybe if the club are agreeable to the idea then we could either a) put every member of the OSC into a hat and draw it out at the end of the season or b) sell raffle tickets for this at every OSC function that anybody can attend. Again the winner drawn at the end of the season.

BTW accystanfan, how long has 12th man sponsorship been available and has it been a success?

If you say that these idea's have been / are being done, then, why not look at "training with the players" days instead? It's definately something different, & who knows, the club might unearth a hidden gem.

There appears to be a lot of reds fans on line each day and the clubs Poker nights have been successful so maybe the club can look into raising money through an on line poker tornament? The club could get a percentage of the buy in fee with the rest going towards prize money?

I'm guessing some of us play poker on line already so might be an idea to raise money for the club at the same time?

Re: idea

Its actually quite easy. The bookmakers Victor Chandler arrange it aslong as there is more than 5 players and you register the e-mail addresses of the players 7 days before the game along with a start time. Only one person has to have an internet betting account with them and they do it for nothing!

Surely if there's enough interest Rob or Karen can look into it?:Banane06:

Byeeeeeee Karen. When did she leave? I saw her at Hereford!

Anyway I'm sure somebody at the club can sort it Macca/Spud cos it's a piece of p*ss, fun and profitable for the club. The way it's done it's not restricted to just stanley fans (but it can be if you want) anybody can register to play in the tournament aslong as they pay the entry fee and the peron who arranges it (ASFC) get all the entry money from all those that register and can decide how much goes towards prize money and how much they keep. This time next year we'll be millionaires!!

Karen left a few months ago. She was at Hereford working for 2BR with Dan Jewell.

Re: idea

maybe a 5 a side tournament at hynburn sports centre similar to what maverick said about pay to play and the money goes to the club / OCS. i think it would be a cracking idea, i think alot of people would like to play 5 a side footy its a great laugh... make your team of max 8 players, rolling subs etc put the teams that enter into a few groups then the top two in each group go to a knockout stage, i think it would work and it would also get members off Accy web to meet other members most likely... the winning team gets a trophy or medal each, dont think it will be that much for one, just an idea but i think it would be great... could do that once every few months if it works the first time.. could also be key for the ultras manager as there could be good talent out there that could fit into the ultras team,

Re: idea

What about a "try your luck" penalty competition against one of the club goal keepers? You could charge a couple of quid for each penalty taken. I know you would need to aquire the club & keepers permision, also their free time. But if half the proceeds went to charity, then it's a win / win situation. The club raises it's profile, a certain charity benefits & also the OSC.

It could also be a sponsored event, i.e. How many total penalty's will be score / saved overall.

How about selling raffle tickets at £x each, then 5 tickets are drawn on a matchday, & the winners get to take a couple of penalty's at halftime during the next home match.

I like that idea but would you want to walk across a muddy churned up pitch in the middle of January just to fall on your jacksie whilst trying to take a run up?????????

Little Timmy (wearing his ASFC shirt) might, especially with proud mum & dad watching.

maybe you could do it during half time ge thte fans behind them wont take up to much time pay so much for a penalty, winner gets a certificate doubt they will be to much to make, say 35 people pay seperate it so 5 take a peny each game ... you score you stay up you miss you go like kind of thing

AccyJay 11-11-2006 15:57

Re: idea

The idea of a raffle was so that it would appeal to all fans. Somebody might not really want to do it, but could give their ticket to a friend or relative.
