Info needed for book on football club

Hi there,

I'm compiling a Football Fans Guide to all 92 league clubs for the 2007/08 season and am seeking some input from Accrington Stanley fans about the ground and the town. It's essentially a Lonely Planet-style guide.

I'd appreciate answers to the following, here or in an email to [email protected]

1. In a sentence, what are the best and worst things about the stadium?
2. What is the best club grub and most popular half-time nosh?
3. List/rate the best 3/4 pubs near the stadium/or in town offering your reasons?
4. If you could offer one piece of advice to away fans, what would it be?
5. Where are the best restaurants (areas/streets in Accrington)?
6. What's the best terrace chant/line heard from an Accrington Stanley wag?
7. Name 3 attractions/highlights of Accrington to make an interesting day out for away fans.

Many thanks
MarkB

yeah I'll agree with that

or years ago away at Marine, 20 man brawl kicks off on the field and I shouted at their keeper to get stuck in "are you a man or a scouse?"

maybe you had to have been there!

same game, a three year old was scooting up and down on one of them little cars you sit on and push with both feet. Somebody sarcastically asked him if he was nicking stereo's. Next thing this little kid gets off his scooty car, lifts off the seat and took out a toy cassette player! The considerable away faithfull of around 30 erupted in hysterics and the kid bolted with tears streaming down his face! Again you had to be there to really appreciate it.

Great prompt reply to a real brainteaser.

After two days this is my best -

1. not so clever - the floodlights; less clever - no f in roof :) .
4. enjoy, but wrap up warm and wear hat.:o
5. Restaurants nil, but Sahad on Blackburn road is excellent, kebabs and samosas of quality at a more than reasonable price.
6. Chants are better at away matches, my fave is "There's more noise in Accy library". Home - "Cart on" is becoming a classic to rival "you'll never walk alone."
7. No trip to Accy would be complete without a stroll up the Coppice, so there's no time for the other attractions  .
